CTW - Key Persons
Our founder Bill Cummens worked for years at a Water Well Contractor but after seeing the need for a customer based contracting service, he decided to go all-in and start up his own business in 1972. Bill grew up in Clara City, Minnesota and was childhood friends with the Thein brothers. Thein Well Company who trace their history back to 1893 helped provide initial financial assistance to Bill which is where CTW (Cummens-Theins Wells) Corporation got its name.
Roger joined CTW after graduating in 1977 with both a bachelors and master's degree from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Roger is the director of technical services for CTW and specializes in pumping control systems. Having the early background of pump installation to pair with his technical expertise, Roger has a phenomenal understanding of how all the components fit together and the communication necessary to make it all work harmoniously.
Tim attended the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities on a track scholarship and received his degree in Civil Engineering. He began working full time for his father's company after graduating in 1977 and assumed the position of President of Operations in 1994, overseeing growth both organically and through acquisitions. A licensed well driller, pump installer and water operator, Tim also received his Professional Engineer stamp shortly after graduation.
Tom attended the University of Wisconsin- Platteville and graduated with his Civil Engineering degree in 1976. Tom began his career as a consulting engineer working 15 years in that sector of the water industry. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has experience in all facets of the water industry- pumphouse design, distribution planning, well construction, and pump design to name a few. Tom joined CTW in 1993 and has been managing the western part of the state out of his hometown of Baraboo.

Troy joined CTW in 2012 as a Branch Manager overseeing the Northeastern part of the state and upper Michigan from our Green Bay location. He began his career working for a residential driller after earning his degree in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Troy is a licensed Pump Installer and Well Driller in Wisconsin & Michigan and has more than 25 years' experience in water well design and installation. In 2019 he became co-owner of CTW.
Hunter is the 3rd generation and is named after his Grandfather & company founder Bill but has gone by his middle name since birth. Following in the previous generation's footsteps he attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and also graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Having gained his experience working in the shop as a youngster, out in the field installing and rebuilding pumps since high school, he now handles the engineering and management side of the business and is extremely familiar with all aspects of pumping water. In 2018 he became co-owner of CTW.
