Matthew Doty

Matthew Doty, born in Alliance, NE. is our maintenance and all around fix-it man. We at De La Chiva would be lost without his great skills. He is our lead vendor, taking our cheese products to local farmers markets. Soft spoken and calm, Matthew loves talking with our customers and builds relationships with them rather than trying to sell to them. When not working the farmers markets and fixing things he assists with making and packaging the cheese. Matthew is responsible for procuring hay, feed and grains as part of his management of the goats diets and daily feedings. His duties also include assisting with the milking process.

Timothy Doty Jr

Timothy Doty Jr, born in Alliance, NE has always dreamed of farm life. His love for animals, particularly goats, started the family's endeavor into the goat world in 1993 when he bought his first goat as a 4-H project. He soon realized the potential the goats had and was able to convince Kathy to start a dairy. He now is responsible for the breeding and herd management of the goats. Tim is responsible for herd care and does all the dis-budding of kids and all other health needs and care of the goats. He also assists with daily milking. Versed in midwifery Tim helps out with the delivery of kids and feeding. Tim's involvement with the cheese production grew from his personal interest and from his travels and studies in Europe. He has plans to revisit Europe for further training in cheese making. He practices farmstead/artisan cheese making. Tim has also started a side business making goat milk soap out of extra milk from the dairy.
