When I opened Emerge Modern Salon in January of 2009, I had envisioned a collective of artists and beauty professionals who worked in collaboration and compassion, instead of competition. I imagined a team that would intentionally practice their craft together in a respectful, openhearted environment. I understood that the key to this dream was empowerment, connectedness and trust.
