Andrew Bender

Andrew is a Central Michigan University graduate where he obtained his degree in Real Estate Development with a concentration in Finance. His college experience led him to become the President of the Professional Real Estate Society. His involvement allowed him to develop a handful of skills and extensive knowledge of the real estate business of which he now represents. At Fortis, Andrew specializes in exclusive seller and buyer representation with a multitude of national clients. His expertise encompasses financial advisory, acquisition and disposition, as well as financial analysis. As a result, he has built a solid foundation built on customer relationships that of which makes him such a valued team member. Aside from work, Andrew has many interests that include: skiing the slopes of Northern Michigan, taking to the sky while learning to fly, and partaking in all the good eats that the city of Detroit continues to offer.

Ben Schultz

As a Senior Director at Fortis Net Lease, I specialize in the disposition and acquisition of net lease real estate. With laser focus on my clients, I aim to make every client feel as if there is no one else. I have concentrated on Net Lease retail, both single, and multi-tenant. Prior to joining the Fortis family, I was a successful banker, working at national and super regional banks. Through the commitment, 100% availability and full service experience I offered my clients, I became one of Michigan's top loan originators. This financial experience has been instrumental in my success in CRE. I understand both the lending and real estate markets, which allows me to assist clients throughout the entire process. Before entering the finance industry, I was a sales manager for one of America's most elite home improvement companies, sharpening my personal and professional skills, working long hours, and multitasking to ensure a positive experience for my employees as well as my customers. Academically, I earned a BA in Finance from Central Michigan University, before completing my MBA from the University of Phoenix, while working full time. Aside from work, I am an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing, and boating with my wife and our three children.

Blake Woods

Blake Woods is a motivated and driven Senior Advisor with Fortis Net Lease who specializes in the acquisition and disposition of net leased assets. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with bachelor's degree in Economics. He developed an interest in real estate from his family who are involved in the industry. Blakes's expertise encompasses financial advisory, financial analysis, and acquisition and disposition. He strives to provide his clients exceptional service to meet their investment objectives. Blake was raised in the metro Detroit area and enjoys living and working in his hometown. When he is not serving his clients, Blake enjoys golfing, spending time with family and friends, and can also be found in pursuit of a good meal in one of the many great local restaurants that the area has to offer.

Brent Luxon

Brent Luxon is a Senior Advisor with Fortis Net Lease. Chris Elliott

Chris is an Associate at Fortis Net Lease that has a diverse work experience and a bachelors degree in economics with a specialization in urban and regional planning from Michigan State University. Chris interned as an assistant portfolio manager at Fifth Third Private bank performing analytics for investment portfolios. During his time at Michigan State he also worked for the City of East Lansing Tax Assessment department and the City of Birmingham Urban Planning Department. After graduating Chris worked as a researcher for Verus Development Group, a real estate firm focused on acquiring and developing retail properties. Prior to coming to Fortis he worked as a business development manager for Metro Detroit based Residential Property Management (RPM). In his free time he enjoys spending time with his dog Calvin, traveling, golfing, camping, spending time with friends and family, and visiting his favorite restaurants and breweries around Metro Detroit.

Christian Hain

Christian is an investment advisor specializing in the disposition and acquisition of single and multi-tenant net lease investment property. In his current role at Fortis, he focuses on underwriting, property valuation, and market analysis of commercial properties nationwide. Christian earned a B.A. in economics at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he also played Division I lacrosse. He puts his financial expertise, his strong work ethic honed on the lacrosse field, and his passion for real estate to work for his clients, managing difficult transactions and building long-term relationships. In his off-hours, Christian enjoys Detroit sports, golf, and spending time with his family.

Corey Bunch

Corey Bunch is an Investment associate at Fortis Net Lease. Corey spent 8 years in the corrugated industry as a sales representative before joining Fortis Net Lease. Being on the road everyday visiting customers taught Corey how to manage his time wisely, how to problem solve, and most importantly how to create valuable customer relationships by understanding their needs. Before getting started in the Packaging business Corey was a student at Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree as a Packaging Engineer. Corey also met his wife Allison there and they have a beautiful daughter together. In his spare time Corey enjoys staying active playing softball, going golfing, riding bikes with his family and playing any sport that his daughter wants to learn.

Douglas Passon - CEO

Doug serves as Managing Partner and co-founder of Fortis Net Lease. His passion for the commercial real sector started in college while attending the University of Michigan and upon graduation, Doug started his career at a nationally-recognized, publicly traded real estate investment firm. When first starting out, he solely focused on building local relationships with merchant developers and quickly became one of the top agents in the firm's Detroit office. After building long-standing relationships, Doug turned to the national net lease market as his sole focus. He specializes in the sale of shopping centers, single tenant retail, office, industrial and medical assets throughout the United States. Since the inception of Doug's career in the real estate investment sector, he has participated in billions of dollars of transactions in nearly every state. In Doug's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys traveling with his family and friends on various business & leisure trips.

Drew Hartner

Drew began his investment real estate career after graduating from the University of Michigan, working in the Detroit office of Marcus & Millichap directly under the top performing agent in the Midwest. There he learned the value of consistently under-promising and over-delivering, while always looking for ways to create win/win scenarios for all parties involved in the transaction. Today, Drew approaches every deal with the same positive attitude and has built an impressive group of loyal clients who also see the value in this approach. Drew specializes in single-tenant medical, industrial, and retail properties nationwide, representing both buyers and sellers. His clients include private investors, small family offices, developers, and some of the largest REITs in the country. Edward Ackerman

Edward started his career in real estate during his time at Eastern Michigan University, where he achieved a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance while holding a mentorship position shadowing an owner operator of Senior Care Facilities. During this time, he was able to learn firsthand how to syndicate funds for investments and work on a new development Senior Care Facility. After graduating, Edward started investing in multifamily real estate in his spare time along with holding a career as a home inspector. Learning coding and compliance allowed him to become an owner-operator of real estate across the state of Michigan. In 2018, he partnered with the City of Detroit's revitalization program working on redeveloping projects. He is also a part of Michigan's stabilization programs and is familiar with the benefits that can be associated with these programs for investors. Currently, Edward helps inventors across the country with acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate. He is a licensed realtor in the state of Michigan and an active member of ICSC.

Eli Schultz

Eli Schultz is a senior advisor with Fortis Net Lease. Eli graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in 1995 and is a highly accomplished Real Estate Broker with 20 years of extensive experience. Before joining FNL, Eli was the owner and managing broker of a Chicago firm located in the West Loop. He has a record of successful client relationships to benefit business development initiatives. Eli regularly consulted with clients to establish long-term client goals and objectives. At Fortis Net Lease, Eli will be specializing in investment sales advising sellers and developers of single and multi-tenant properties and assisting in their 1031 Exchanges. Eli will also assist investorsthat are looking to achieve passive income through the purchase of properties with investment-grade tenants. In Eli's spare time he enjoys family vacations, live concerts, sporting events, and playing golf with clients and friends.

Elisabeth Addison

Elisabeth has had an extremely hard work ethic from a young age and keeps her clients needs as her top priority. John McNew

Mr. McNew joined Fortis Net Lease as a Senior Investment Advisor in 2019 and is a seasoned real estate professional having previously practiced as a real estate and transactional attorney. Mr. McNew has closed dozens of transactions as a commercial real estate attorney prior to transitioning to becoming an investment sales broker. With nearly a decade of experience as an attorney and commercial real estate broker, McNew is creative, yet methodical in his approach to deal making. His wide range of transactional experience includes: acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, refinancing, and workouts. Mr. McNew holds a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law and a Master of Science in Information and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Michigan.

Kristen Michie

She joined the team utilizing her 15 years in commercial real estate experience with a focus on leasing and property management. Prior to starting her career in commercial real estate, she was a Marketing/PR Director for Skydive Chicago. She graduated from Oakland University with a B.A. majoring in Communication. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys many activities outdoors, road trips, new hobbies, and anything adventurous.

Kyle Carson

Kyle specializes in exclusive seller & buyer representation, along with advising his local and national clientele. This full spectrum of advisory includes: acquisition/disposition, financial analysis, short & long term investment portfolio plans & micro/macro financial market breakdown. Kyle represents clients in property sales ranging from single tenant net lease properties to shopping centers nationwide. He also focuses on CMBS loan assumptions for stabilized multi-tenant assets. Kyle's well-rounded understanding of the net lease investment environment allows him to effectively advise clients, whether family office, developer or institutional, on a proper course for the market. The focus and drive that allows Kyle to compete in the brokerage world also allowed him to compete at Division II Hillsdale College as an outside linebacker. Kyle enjoys up north Michigan during the summer and spending time on the Great Lakes.

Over the last ten years, he has specialized in exclusively representing sellers and buyers in the disposition and acquisition of single tenant and multi-tenant retail investment assets with a focus on restaurant and QSR properties. He has successfully represented developers, private investors, and institutional owners on hundreds of complicated real estate transactions during his career. Marvin is also a national leading authority on sale leaseback transactions ranging from single transactions to multi-unit portfolios. He has advised some of the nation's top restaurant franchisees and corporate clients on the sale leaseback process and completed a record number of sale leaseback transactions throughout the United States. Marvin is a lifetime resident of Michigan and in his free time he enjoys golfing, boating, music, and spending time with his family. Mr. DeLaura earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. He is a licensed Realtor in the State of Michigan and an active member of the ICSC.

Michael Orden

Now for over 30 years, Michael has been actively involved in the real estate industry in various commercial sectors. Representing both buyers and sellers with repeated success, he has negotiated transactions with an aggregate value well over nine figures. Michael provides every investor, buyer and seller with the advantage of having a strong advocate who is highly trained and extensively skilled at negotiating and brokering complex real estate transactions. Patrick joined Fortis Net Lease directly out of college at Oakland University where he earned a B.S. in Finance. Having an uncle in the commercial real estate business Patrick knew from a young age this was the career he wanted to pursue. He works with developers, REIT's and private investors alike to achieve their individual goals. Patrick is an excellent transaction manager and has a unique ability to keep a calm demeanor when a challenge arises during a deal. He puts his client's needs first as he strives to create long term relationships rather than one-time clients. When Patrick is not working he is spending time with his wife Megan and their four children. In addition, Patrick loves to golf, travel and spend time on the water.

Payman Mahjoory

In his previous role as a Managing Director at B. Riley, Payman was President of Whitlam Group, a privately-held company based in Center Line, Michigan. As a commercial real estate broker, Payman brings a unique perspective to the table.
