Julie Thornton

Julie Thornton's passion for design started early. At the age of 21, she bought, gutted and reconstructed her first house, then at 24 built her first home from the ground up. Today, more than 600 high-end design projects later, Julie is one of Boulder's premier interior designers. This artistry, vision, hands-on approach and commitment to every stage of the design process have resulted in a loyal client base that eagerly re-engages with her on new projects and enthusiastically refers friends and family. An authority on many levels of design, from architectural work to construction, Julie intimately understands every step of the home creation process and skillfully assists her clients from visualization to completion. Her vast circle of artisans and vendors, along with her own talent for creating custom art and furniture, help make each client's unique style a reality. Julie believes the home is not just for show, but a sanctuary for those living there. Viewing each new client's home holistically, she uses her creative insight to help create a space that is as functional as it is beautiful. Re-purposing, re-cycling, and honoring the environment and the architectural bones of a home play a significant role in the design process. A Colorado native, Julie draws her inspiration from the area's natural beauty and unique community, co-creating homes that blend Boulder's artistic spirit with her client's distinctive styles.
