To thrive, healthy cells rely on a plethora of cascades that integrate and process signals reflecting their internal state and the external environment. In our laboratory, we take a multi-tiered approach to study how various cell and organ systems function together in order to ensure organismal survival in an ever changing environment. In the long run, we hope to glean fundamental insights into how cells and tissues function during development and aging, and identify mechanisms responsible for the pathogenesis of a variety of debilitating diseases.
