Kevin married his wife, Terri, a Special Education Paraprofessional at Madisonville CISD, in 1994. After the purchase of the property in Madisonville in 1995, Kevin began managing the small herd of cattle on the weekends while maintaining his former career as a HVAC Technician in the City of Houston. However, in 1996 the two chose to move from Houston, Texas to Madisonville, Texas to begin their journey full-time in the ranching industry. Together he and his wife have raised two children, Blane and Madison Counsil. His son Blane is a graduate of Texas A&M University, receiving both his Masters of Public Service Administration and his Bachelor's in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M in May 2020. Madison is currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University and is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Economics. Each year Kevin continues to improve the herd by breeding top of the line genetics in order to ensure that CFLX remains at the top of the industry. His goal is to raise high quality livestock that any cattleman could be proud to add to their own herd.
