AH SO - Key Persons

Brett Shumaker

Brett came to Ah So Designs in 2014 during a brief stint as a freelance WordPress website developer. He's been building awesome WordPress websites, WordPress themes, and plugins since 2008 and lives in the matrix. Brett graduated from APSU in 2008 with an M.F.A. in Graphic Design so he knows how to make those sites pretty too. Outside of Ah So, Brett is heavily involved with the Nashville WordPress community and helps plan the yearly WordCamp Nashville event. He also plays guitar, attempts to play the drums, and loves spending time at home with his wife, Sarah, and their 3 dogs: Lyla - a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Ellie - an English Bulldog, and Molly - a Greyhound, Pitbull, Lab, who-knows-what-else mix.

Jake DeBoer

Jake joined the Ah So Designs ninjas as an account manager in 2014 after spending two years working as an operations director for a non-profit in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jake is a utility man whose daily activities range from managing the squirrels to spreadsheets to writing css to teaching clients how to use their new sites. Jake graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Psychology in 2012. Outside of Ah So, Jake has a passion for international travel. He has studied in Israel twice and is actively involved with Under the Fig Tree Ministries, an organization dedicated to leading trips to Egypt, Jordan and Israel. On any given weekend, you'll find Jake ripping apart palettes and building whatever his wife, Taylor has found on Pinterest that week!

John Housholder

It all started with John Housholder: part entrepreneur, part code nerd. A Memphis guy who has traveled the world, John founded Ah So Designs after living in Austria and then helping grow the account set of two of the fastest INC 500 Companies at Dell. He was an associate web professor at The Art Institute of Tennessee during the first three years of growing Ah So. A strategic thinker who'll give it to you straight - John has three great loves: Garth Brooks, the web and his dog, Dunn. He was married in July of 2014, to a beautiful Rebel from the University of Mississippi. Allison is now his great love, but don't worry Dunn, you can still sleep inside. He has a master's in Instructional Technology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, helps run the Nashville WordPress Meetup and Nashville WordCamp, sits on the SEYA board of directors, volunteers as a mentor at the Entrepreneur Center and is on the Young Life Nashville committee. Since starting Ah So in 2008, John has also founded WP Faciliator, a WordPress Mastermind aggregator and Kurate.it, a better way to send email in WordPress, and Exodus, a WordPress theme builder. You can regularly find John attending WordPress leadership conferences like Pressnomics, CaboPress, and WordCamp US.

Noe Lopez

Noe plays the violin, enjoys baking cakes, and running long distances. He joined the Marines Corps after graduating high school and served duties in Iraq and Japan. He served as a fiscal chief and learned a lot about team leadership, accounting, and the way businesses work. During basic training, he carried a backpack heavier than he is so tackling backend code is a piece of cake!
