CSBS was organized in 1902 as the National Association of Supervisors of State Banks. In 1971, the name was changed to the Conference of State Bank Supervisors to better reflect the ongoing nature of CSBS activities... CSBS is not a chartered bank or trust company, or depository institution. It is not authorized to accept deposits or trust accounts and is not licensed or regulated by any state or federal bank authority.
