Terese Driscoll has professional experience in corporate communications, employee communications, newspaper reporting, copyediting, media relations consulting, ad copy writing, patent ghostwriting, law-firm marketing, and Web content writing and editing. She was born in Chicago, raised in California and educated at UC Berkeley. After earning her bachelor's degree in English literature and music from UC, Ms. Driscoll spent two years in a language-arts master's program at San Francisco State University. After a chance encounter with two sailing enthusiasts, she took to the high seas, making her way under sail to the Caribbean, Brazil and South Africa. Ms. Driscoll's career as an international freelance journalist was launched when major South African magazines and newspapers published her photos and sailing articles. On her return to the United States, she published freelance articles and photos in the San Jose Mercury News Sunday magazine and several other magazines and newspapers. In 1995, Ms. Driscoll founded Driscoll Communications, a media relations consulting firm based in Mill Valley, California. Driscoll Communications facilitates local and regional publicity campaigns and marketing operations for established and start-up businesses and community groups. Ms. Driscoll has assisted businesses large and small with public relations and marketing operations, and loves facilitating the adventurous spirit in any form.
