High Street Baptist Church was founded by Dr. Charles Mainous & his wife, Caylon on the first Sunday of October in 1968. Over the next 33 years, those 19 members grew to 50 and eventually to hundreds as Dr. Mainous followed Christ's leading on his life and on the church. Dr. Mainous continued to serve as the Senior Pastor until January 10th, 2001 when he and the church voted unanimously to install Charles Mainous III as the next pastor of High Street. With passion, excitement, vision, and a love for people, Pastor Mainous's heart is to reach our community, our state, and our nation with the Gospel.
