Serving Central Pennsylvania since 1968, Home Nursing Agency is a not-for-profit service provider that became part of UPMC in 2013. The ability to serve the community is enhanced by the support of the United Ways of Bedford County, Blair County, Huntingdon County, and the Laurel Highlands... With great diligence and momentum, this grassroots effort pulled together medical, surgical, and home healthcare groups to provide services on a visiting basis at the residence of individuals who were in need of care. Initially, the Agency employed six nurses, serving residents of Altoona and Hollidaysburg from an office at Valley View Nursing Home. Fifty years years later, the Agency has evolved into a trusted leader in the community health network with nearly 1,000 employees serving more than 23,000 people throughout western and central Pennsylvania.
