Alberto Tozzi is a pediatrician, epidemiologist and vaccine expert. He is Head of Multifactorial Diseases and Complex Phenotypes Research Area at the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the Department of Healthcare of the Ospedale Pediatrico Bambin Gesù (Rome, Italy). He's also Head of Telemedicine Project Unit at the same hospital. Andreas Kaltenbrunner is affiliate Researcher at ISI and the Research Director of the AI and Data for Society (AID4So) research group at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Before he was a Senior Research Scientist at the ISI Foundation in Turin.
He uses methods from Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Complex Systems to tackle sociological research questions.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Digital Communication obtained in 2008 from the UPF in Barcelona. Afterwards, he worked at the technology centre Barcelona Media where he co-founded the Social Media research line and led it from May 2013 onwards. Between June 2015 and August 2017, he was the Scientific Director of the Digital Humanities Research Unit at the technology centre Eurecat. In September 2017 he joined NTENT as Director of Data Analytics, until moving to ISI Foundation in October 2020 and to the UOC in May 2023.

Corrado Gioannini is a Senior Research Scientist at ISI Foundation, in Turin, Italy. He has a background in Physics, and has been working several years in the software industry coordinating development projects. His research activities are mainly focused in the field of computational epidemiology, and his main interest is the design and realization of software tools aimed at assisting research, education and policy making. He has been leading the development of the GLEAMviz simulator for over a decade, a computational platform for simulating epidemic spreading phenomena, and contributed to the publication of several articles about disease spreading, including the Covid-19 emergency. He has been participating in several EU funded projects and is coordinating the technical development of forecasting hubs at the national and European level.

Dario is a social computing researcher and open knowledge advocate based in San Francisco. He is currently the Director of Research at the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that operates Wikipedia and its sister projects. His research spans the behavioral and social aspects of online collaboration and commons-based peer production. As a co-author of the Altmetrics Manifesto and a long-standing open access advocate, he is interested in the design of open systems to promote, track and measure the impact, reuse and discoverability of research objects. Prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation, he held research and teaching positions at University College London, University of Surrey, Sciences Po, Paris Diderot University, and École Normale Supérieure. He holds a PhD and MSc in Cognitive Science from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, a MA in Philosophy of Science from the University of Pisa, and a licenza from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. He is the joint recipient of a gold prize in Interactive Visualization from the Information is Beautiful Awards. Dr. Ciro Cattuto is the Scientific Director of ISI Foundation. His research focuses on measuring and modeling complex phenomena in systems that entangle human behaviours and digital platforms, using digital behavioral proxies to target research problems in computational social science and digital epidemiology. He is interested in the social impact of data and artificial intelligence and in policies to support the generation of public value from privately held data. Dr. Cattuto is a founder and principal investigator of the SocioPatterns collaboration, an international collaboration on measuring and analyzing human and animal social networks using wearable proximity sensors. He was formerly an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department of the University of Torino, an Expert in the Italian Department of Digital Transformation, and a member of the Italian Government's COVID-19 "data" task force. Dr. Cattuto holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Perugia, Italy, and has worked as a research scientist at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA, at the Enrico Fermi Center in Rome, and the Frontier Research System of the RIKEN Institute in Japan.

Giancarlo Ruffo, Ph.D, is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Turin, Italy, and Adjunct Professor at Schools of Informatics and Computing, Indiana University. His current research interests fall in the multidisciplinary research area of computational social science, with particular focus on data science, complex networks, and network analysis. He also investigated research problems on web and data mining, recommendation systems, social media, distributed applications, peer-to-peer systems, security, and micro-payment schemes. He is the principal investigator of ARCS group http://arcs.di.unito.it, and he has several research projects. He has published about 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conferences. Aside his academic work, he has been involved in many other professional activities as free-lance consultant in the last 20 years. In 2013 he co-founded NetAtlas s.r.l., a start-up company specialized in mobile application development and social media services design and analysis. In 2015 he also co-founded Quaerys s.r.l. another start-up offering social media analytics and sentiment analyis services.

Kyriaki Kalimeri is a researcher at the ISI Foundation, Turin, Italy, while previously she has been a research assistant at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, Italy. She received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Trento in 2013, while was a visiting Ph.D. at the Human Dynamics Group at MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, USA. She holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete in 2008. Her current research interests lie at the intersection of computational social science and engineering, and in particular on employing statistical machine learning and natural language processing for humanitarian response.
