Dave Quinn

Job Titles:
  • Dave - Water Education Instructor
Dave Quinn is a Kimberley-based outdoor educator, wildlife biologist, and wilderness guide. He is a BC-certified teacher and award-winning natural history author and photographer. Dave designed Mainstreams' Climate Change Adaptation and Mark Creek Flume Restoration Programs.

Dr. Betty Mosher

Betty teaches Biology at College of the Rockies where she guides her students in community education projects. One was about non-point source pollution in Joseph Creek. Betty hopes to establish an Environmental Diploma soon.

Jim Duncan

Jim has been employed as a research tech. at UBC, a Jr. High School librarian and a College Librarian. He provides curriculum development, grant management, project coordination and communication services.

Kim Urbaniak

  • Kim - Water Education Instructor
Kim has a MA in Environmental Education and Communications, and a varied background in community engagement, program development, and volunteer management. New to the Kootenays, Kim brings with her over 10 years of experience leading programs for all ages, and a passion for connecting people with the natural world.

Laura Duncan

  • Restoration - Technical Director
Laura has been working in the environmental sector since 1970 and has many years expertise in environmental effects of mines and ecosystem restoration. She provides technical support for the Water Quality Monitoring Program as well as Mainstreams varied educational programs.

Mark Strosher - President

Mark was an Environmental Protection Officer with BC Environmental Protection in the Kootenays for 30 years. He has volunteered in environmental education for 25 years.

Patty Kolesnichenko

Job Titles:
  • Patty - Water Education Instructor
  • Water Education Instructor
Patty has a B Ed and a B Sc (Kinesiology and Public Health). She is CABIN and Streamkeepers certified and has 20 years experience as an Outdoor Education teacher. Patty designed the Macro Invertebrate, Beaver and Wetlands Programs for Mainstreams.

Stewart Wilson

Job Titles:
  • Secretary
Stewart teaches in Cranbrook where he shares his love and knowledge of Joseph Creek and Elizabeth Lake. He is Chair of the Joseph Creek Streamkeepers and a member of Columbia Basin

Susanne Ashmore - Treasurer

Job Titles:
  • Treasurer
Susanne was the President of the Wasa Lake Improvement District Board; a volunteer organization looking out for the water quality of Wasa Lake. Susanne is also an internationally recognized potter.

Tanya Meijer - VP

Job Titles:
  • Vice President
Tanya has a B Sc and B Ed and teaches in Cranbrook. Raised in Kimberley, she spent time working in Marine Sciences at BC's Coast. She is passionate about environmental education!
