Jessica joined the team in 2016. She has become indispensable as our Office Administrator and Marketing Coordinator. While she juggles responsibilities across multiple departments, she has a keen sense of operations that allows the firm to run smoothly on a daily basis. As any firm will recognize, without this support there is no foundation to function. Beyond all that, her humor seeps through the driest of cracks…her quips and one-liners keep us laughing, and we can always count on her to give us a random fact about some ocean creature, or pull out a new photo of her dog, Pete.

Mark Steele, founder of M.W. Steele Group, is nationally recognized as a visionary and a community leader. Mark has contributed consistently to the community through his personal involvement with a wide range of issues as well as his ability to communicate technical and conceptual information as the basis for gaining community consensus. He is visible within the San Diego region as a proponent of responsible growth and design and has helped to redefine the role of the architect within the development process. Mark and the firm have developed a reputation for providing innovative design skills while navigating complex political and public process and bringing people together.While establishing M.W. Steele Group, Mark has earned the highest measure of respect for his ability to help clients strategically position both new construction and redevelopment projects to increase their value and their overall performance and viability. He brings in-depth understanding of zoning, design guidelines, and the complexities of public and private partnerships to our work. Mark offers a comprehensive and innovative approach to design, combining critical analysis of issues with architecture and urban planning.

Michael Paluso

As our Managing Principal, Michael is an integral part of the management team playing a key role in providing technical oversight and managing complex projects of varying sizes. He is talented, committed to the work we do and has a natural ability to fill an important mentor role to many of our junior staff. Michael manages complex projects of varying sizes, scopes, and building types from the initial design through construction. Highly organized and detail oriented, Michael's extensive knowledge base allows for him to develop creative solutions to complex architectural problems. His commitment to the firm and subsequently every project he is assigned to shines through in each facet of his work including his sustainability efforts.

Samantha Ihle

Vincent Rivera

  • DESIGN PROJECT MANAGER
Vincent Rivera joined M.W. Steele Group to combine his passion for social improvement with the wide variety of firm projects centered on building community. With more than 10 years of project experience ranging from historic preservation, K-12 education, healthcare, residential, and a variety of public and private buildings, he brings a wealth of construction details and designing to the shared knowledge of the firm. While simultaneously working on his MA in Interior Design from California State University Fresno and Master of Architecture from New School of Architecture and Design, he worked as a drafter honing his knowledge of detailing. His interest in the both the natural and built environment and equity has led him to be an active member of his neighborhood of City Heights. Past activities included hosting and organizing Park(ing) Day activities and neighborhood potlucks; building and installing a sidewalk library; designing signage for a neighborhood pocket park and creating a public bicycle air pump station. He currently is a member of the Built Environment Team and volunteers with the various organizations in City Heights including San Diego Canyonlands. Vincent contributes to the firm's philosophies with his desire to work on projects with social and environmental causes and his belief that beauty is in the details as well the big picture. When he is not at the office, he can be found biking, composting, working in his garden or on his house with his dog, Oso. You will often find him educating staff on recycling and composting - he keeps us honest, green, and laughing at a punny joke or two.
