George R. Nail is a Licensed Professional Engineer in nine states and has more than 50 years of experience working in the electrical power industry. As Director of Protection and Controls Engineering, he is responsible for commissioning new stations and directing troubleshooting efforts on existing stations. He has considerable design experience on 345kV, 230kV, and 115kV switching stations, substations and large power plants. He frequently works in energized stations with field personnel and interacts with system operators.
Nail specializes in protection, control and metering of distribution substations, transmission stations and generating plants. In conjunction with design, he performs fault studies and relay coordination studies for distribution and transmission systems. He also has substantial experience in power flow, stability and network analyzer studies.
A former Chairman of the IEEE Power System Relaying Committee, Nail remains active in the group. His expertise is nationally recognized, and he is frequently called to testify on technical issues. He also often teaches engineers and field personnel how to operate and test new protection equipment. He holds one U.S. patent for Transfer Logic Control Circuitry.

Harry R. Barnes Jr., serves as Managing Member/Chief Executive Officer and handles business development, contracting, licensing and compliance. He also oversees human resources, manages finances and accounting, leads marketing initiatives, and manages administrative personnel, infrastructure and third-party relationships. He co-founded T&D Services with his father, Harry R. Barnes Sr., in 2007.
Barnes has more than 20 years of experience in business. He previously worked for an investment management firm where he managed more than $250 million in net assets and handled policy and tactical asset allocation formulation and implementation, portfolio construction, manager and security selection, risk control, stress testing, cash management, liquidity management, performance tracking and benchmarking and secured lines of credit and credit facilities. He also worked as a project engineer, where he prepared design books for transmission and distribution power lines ranging from 34kV to 230kV and modeled a series of spreadsheets using complex macros and functions to calculate design specifications.

As Director of Transmission and Distribution Lines, Harry R. Barnes Sr., provides oversight for all transmission and distribution line projects, assigns personnel to complete various project phases, ensures compliance of the design with RUS construction standards, reports on project statuses and carries out many other essential functions. He co-founded T&D Services with his son, Harry R. Barnes Jr., in 2007.
Barnes' engineering career spans 35 years and includes working with Rural Electrical Cooperatives, developers and mining companies, as well as design, layout, construction specifications, contract management, RUS submissions and construction oversight of aerial and underground transmission and distribution lines ranging in voltage from 34.5kV to 230kV and 7.2kV to 14.4/24.9kV, respectively. He also has considerable experience in the design of wood, steel and concrete construction and utilizing single pole and H-frame structures.
Barnes was responsible for the design of transmission and distribution lines for the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, Peabody Western Coal Company, Bureau of Reclamation, Navajo Agricultural Products Industries and many other projects.

A professional engineer licensed in three states, Kenneth Adams serves as Director of Stations Engineering and is responsible for supervising substation design, contracting, construction, commissioning and overall project coordination. He is familiar with all aspects of electrical transmission and distribution systems, distribution substations and transmission stations. He oversees the preparation of full electrical print sets, performs studies, and prepares material lists and specifications to accomplish complete project packages.
Adams specializes in high-voltage electric power delivery and transfer and has 23 years of experience designing substations and switching stations up to 345kV. He is also experienced with the repair and re-energization of failed equipment and systems from 480V to 345kV, including re-synchronization of 15kV to 138kV systems and power generating facilities that were islanded during outages, equipment failures or storms.
