Dr. Emily Goulet

Job Titles:
  • Specialist
Dr. Emily Goulet is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist who takes joy in helping families grow. Collaborating with her patients, she develops a personalized fertility treatment plan. "I believe every patient is unique and deserves special attention to their specific circumstances and goals. Patients know their body best. My job is to listen to and educate them about fertility, their health, and their options. It feels really good when we can formulate a plan together that is a whole-body and more natural approach. But for my patients that need the most cutting-edge or aggressive treatments available, I understand how stressful this process can be. I went into fertility medicine because I was inspired by precision medicine and the growing field of genetics. But I never forget that this is all about something very basic and organic- the human instinct to love and care for a baby." Dr. Goulet has a particular interest in PCOS, egg freezing & fertility preservation, single moms by choice & LGBTQ+, and weight-related fertility issues. Dr. Goulet is passionate about increasing access to fertility care. "It's a basic human right to have a family. There can be many barriers to fertility care, both real and perceived. I'm here to help navigate and advocate for anybody that worries treatment is out of their reach." Having been through years of fertility treatments herself as a single mom by choice, she is now a proud mom to IVF baby Charlie. Outside of the office, she's an avid video gamer, quilter, and knitter. Dr. Goulet enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the many nature trails that make Paradise her new home. Education Dr. Goulet received her Medical Degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas in Austin Dell Medical School. Dr. Goulet specialized in fertility medicine by completing her Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship at the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center. She spent a year in private practice in Texas where she also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Baylor University Medical Center before returning to the Islands. Here, she served as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, before recently joining the Fertility Institute of Hawaii. Areas of expertise Dr. Goulet is a well-respected specialist in fertility and brings valuable expertise to our team. Dr. Goulet lived in the Pacific Islands two decades ago, when she served in the Peace Corps and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has represented the interest of her patients and advocated for laws on their behalf at both the state and national level.
