BALFOUR INFANT SCHOOL

At Balfour Infant School we strive to put children first and foremost in all that we do. We offer a supportive and nurturing environment where children can develop a sense of self-worth and an enthusiasm for learning. We look to engage their hearts as well as minds. We are extremely proud of our induction programme, which we have found over the years has helped even the youngest children settle with a positive start to their education... We are a co-educational Infant School taking children between the ages of 4 and 7 years. We have 270 children on roll, as each year we admit about 90 children into our reception classes. There are 3 classes in each of the 3 year groups. The children stay with us until they are 7 years of age and most then transfer to Balfour Junior Academy nearby. The school is in an urban area on the borders of Rochester and Chatham in North Kent which was home to Charles Dickens and the Chatham Maritime Historic Dockyard.
