Fisher started Fisher Roofing in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with a $1.00 bill. This bought him a used 55 gallon oil barrel, 3 used tractor sleeves to set the barrel on and a mop head. His first ladder was made by splitting a 2 x 6 board and nailing rungs on it. He acquired the rest of the materials on credit from local lumberyards.
