DAVID NEWTON

David Newton joined the Board in 2020. David has 30 years' experience as a civil and environmental engineer. He has spent most of his career as a consultant in the private sector, providing advice to government and private clients on land development, mining and infrastructure projects. He is a director of a specialist engineering consultancy in Brisbane. David has many years of experience in different volunteer roles in local church ministry, including church leadership, youth and bible teaching. He has a particular interest in men's ministry, with a desire to see men excel in their roles as husbands and fathers. David has an honours degree and a masters degree in civil engineering from the University of Queensland and a PhD from Griffith University.

FRAN MAYER

Francisca (Fran) is a senior lawyer who specialises in working with, and for, not-for-profit organisations including churches and schools. She has a special interest in and experience in matters relating to workplace policies, workplace investigations and employment, personal injury, and education law. Fran is currently undertaking her Masters in International Law and enjoys volunteering to assist faith-based and human rights organisations.

Graham Harvey

Graham Harvey is the Property Manager for Carinity sites around Central Queensland - including aged care communities, schools and youth support centres in Rockhampton, Mount Morgan, Yeppoon and Gladstone. Since 1994 he has overseen the Carinity Shalom retirement village in Rockhampton, where he also lives.

Joyce Marler

Joyce Marler is a Rockhampton girl, through and through. Queensland's newest centenarian has lived in the town for all but four of her 100 years.

LISA STAY

Lisa Stay joined the Board in 2018. She has worked previously as an Occupational Therapist in tertiary hospitals in Brisbane and for the NHS in London. She has also had some time working on various Allied Health Projects for Queensland Health. After a break to have children, invest in family life and complete further study, she has returned to work in a role for a local business where she liaises broadly between public and private sectors and specifically the aged care and disability sectors. Her passion is for people to be cared for, equipped and facilitated to live to their full potential. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma of Divinity from Malyon Theological College, Brisbane.

MARK HODGSON

Mark is a chartered accountant and originally spent 10 years at a large chartered accounting firm in Brisbane giving advice to businesses and private family offices. Since then he has been the Chief Financial Officer of a financial planning business, where he also sits on the Risk Management and Investment Committees. Mark is also the part-time Administrator at Riverlife Baptist Church and a board member of Queensland Baptists, as well as serving on the QB Financial Services Committee and Carinity's Finance Audit and Risk Committee.

RICHARD WRAY - Chairman

Richard Wray joined the Board in 2019. Previously employed as a Federal Public Servant, Primary School Teacher and most recently as Manager of an Aged Care Specialist Architectural Practice in Brisbane. Since taking early retirement in 2010, Richard has been a Community Volunteer working mostly with seniors in Brisbane North. Formerly served 8 years on the Queensland Baptist Board and now a volunteer Director of a mission organisation providing assistance to at-risk children in Thailand. He enjoys construction work and property maintenance especially for the opportunities it provides to demonstrate God's love and care for others. Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economic and Financial Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Primary Education.

STEWART PIEPER

As Director of Services of Queensland Baptists, Stewart is an ex-officio member of the Carinity Board. Stewart has been a Baptist minister for 17 years. He has pastored both as an Associate Pastor and as a Senior Pastor in large regional churches. He was appointed as a Queensland Baptists Regional Consultant in 2015, Associate to the General Superintendent in 2017 and Acting General Superintendent in 2018. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Ministry as well as a Master of Arts (Min) and is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified).
