Alexandra Edelblute is responsible for a wide range of duties including copywriting, editing videos, producing websites, editing and proofreading, and creating graphics.
She also creates content for and manages the official social media accounts for the Jacobs School. Further, she has been responsible for sundry administrative duties in the office.
Edelblute has proudly served UB in digital communications since 2010.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Utah and a master's degree in English from the University at Buffalo. She earned a social media marketing certificate from Cornell University.

Dawn M. Cwierley, senior writer, serves as the communications officer for the Dean of Medicine and Vice President for Health Sciences. She is responsible for writing and developing compelling content for the dean's various channels, including presentations, email, web, digital and social media.
She also oversees creation of the Insights electronic newsletter and works in collaboration with the Jacobs School communications team and senior leadership.
Cwierley joined the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2022, bringing with her more than 25 years of public relations, marketing and communications experience in the entertainment, legal and education industries. Most recently, she spent 14 years working with the Jacobs School's health care partner, Catholic Health, where she oversaw communications for Kenmore Mercy Hospital, as well as the orthopedics service line, home care program and nursing homes.
Cwierley previously held positions at the Girl Scouts of Minnesota & Wisconsin River Valleys, Thomson Reuters, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Rochester Broadway Theatre League. She is an active community volunteer, serving in board positions with Amherst Youth & Recreation, as well as the Kenmore Village Improvement Association.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in communications/journalism from SUNY Brockport.

Dirk Hoffman, staff writer, is responsible for writing, editing and proofreading stories for the Jacobs School's websites. He also writes articles for the school's alumni magazine. His work also appears in UBNow.
He has produced copy for websites geared toward prospective students and trainees, faculty and academic leadership - as well as current faculty, staff and students. Further, he has been responsible for sundry administrative duties.
Hoffman has proudly served UB since 2016 and has brought to the university his wealth of experience as a seasoned journalist with decades of writing expertise.
Prior to his time at UB, Hoffman worked for The Daily News in Batavia, New York, serving as news editor for more than 20 years, and before that, working as assistant news editor and a city hall reporter.
He also spent five years with Bee Group Newspapers, serving as an editor. In this role he gained experience with graphics and layout work, and he covered and reported on local government and school board meetings, local news, sports and features.
Hoffman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications/journalism from SUNY Buffalo State College.

Heather is responsible for facilitating access to digital displays, listserv communications, and other support within the Office of Communications. She works collaboratively with the department to support the dean's vision and overall strategy for the Jacobs School.
She joins the team with over nine years of marketing experience in the health care, pharmaceutical and medical device space. She has experience managing campaigns for clients in the audience generation space for grand rounds, speakers' bureaus, and other medical education meetings. Heather has also worked extensively with clients needing assistance with clinical trial recruitment for both rare and common diseases.
Heather earned a bachelor's degree in English and political science, as well as a master's degree in political science from the University at Buffalo.
