A Houston native, Kathy earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree with a specialization in Public Relations at The University of Texas at Austin. She worked for 13 years as a reporter and editor for the Galveston County Daily News, where she won numerous awards for writing and design. As Daily News managing editor, she managed a newsroom staff of 21 reporters, photographers and designers.
