Dr. Zach Walgenbach

Dr. Zach Walgenbach grew up in Waseca, Minnesota, and received his undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, with a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in music. He continued his studies at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While he was a student, Dr. Walgenbach took several elective and honors courses in general dentistry, including those in endodontics and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Walgenbach received the Quality Care in a Caring Manner Award for his clinical excellence and compassionate treatment of patients. The Academy of General Dentistry Board of Trustees recognized Dr. Walgenbach for having exhibited the greatest leadership, interest, knowledge, and proficiency in the field of general dentistry while in school and awarded him the Academy of General Dentistry University of Minnesota Senior Leader Award. In addition, Dr. Walgenbach received an award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry for his outstanding achievement in the pursuit of excellence in the study of Esthetic Dentistry while a student at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Walgenbach has continued to hold himself to high standards. He has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education. He has completed two levels in an extensive multi-year Postgraduate Program in Contemporary and Esthetic Dentistry through the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Walgenbach spent four years caring for patients at a private dental office in Blaine, MN, prior to connecting with Dentistry on Vine. While he enjoyed his time in Blaine, he felt as though something was missing. After meeting Dr. Lesher, he was excited to have found a partner with similar practice philosophies. Once he met the staff and experienced the vibrant Hudson community, he knew Dentistry on Vine was where he wanted to spend the rest of his career. Community involvement and service work have always been central to Dr. Walgenbach's life. He first participated with the Give Kids a Smile program in 2009. He has also been involved with Minnesota's Mission of Mercy program, and he has traveled with a Minnesota-based dental relief group to Antigua, Guatemala, and San Rafael, Guatemala, providing dental treatment to the underserved. Dr. Walgenbach is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is an active member of Spear Education. Spear Education provides dental continuing education for striving dentists that are dedicated to the pursuit of clinical excellence in dentistry. When Dr. Walgenbach is not treating patients, he can be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Erica, and their two children. They enjoy boating, biking, camping, and hiking. Dr. Walgenbach also enjoys working with his hands and auto restoration.
