The rapidly changing realities of the world today urgently call us to reimagine what is required to build inclusive, thriving, and sustainable communities. To be deeply effective, we who engage in planning must actively work to overcome historical hegemonic legacies of colonialism and systemic exclusions based on race, class, religion, and/or gender. An ethics of planning calls us to: co-create communities of belonging, lead with justice, and confront the overlapping social, environmental, health, and economic challenges facing cities globally.
