Avni Sejpal is a Mumbai based Architect & designer dedicated to experimental research in design through a deep investigation of materials and structure; always in the pursuit of sustainable manufacturing solutions. She holds a degree in Architecture from KRVIA, Mumbai and an MA in Environmental Design (Majors in Furniture, Public Art and Graphics) from the Chelsea College of Art & Design, London. Prior to founding her studio in 2011, Avni worked with renowned Architects and designers such as Rajiv Saini (Mumbai), Paul Loebach (New York) among others, where she discovered a love for Spaces, furniture and products. She continued to hone her desi gn skills by working as Design Director for her family run business; designing and producing bespoke textiles, exhibiting her collections internationally. Driven by a love of unconventional use of materials and intuitive forms , Avni uses her collective experience from various design fields to create striking artworks for public spaces, corporate environments, exhibitions and private homes. Her designs include many handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces that highlight Avni's diverse sensibilities and holistic design approach. Today, with the help of a dedicated team, Avni continues to explore and experiment with new techniques, crafts and materials, pushing the boundaries of design. Studio Avni products are all designed and engineered by Avni, using a broad variety of techniques and a trusted network of local fabricators and artisans. Every piece is hand assembled by the studio team and personally inspected by the designer.
