Kornelia Tiede

Kornelia Tiede brings more than 20 years of maritime transportation experience. Prior to starting TIVALCO, Kornelia was Director of Product Management and Marketing for Hapag-Lloyd in Latin America. In this function, she was responsible for overseeing pricing, new services, marketing, conference participation, and product performance. She has held positions in operations, logistics, marketing, and product management. Kornelia earned a degree in Maritime Transportation from the Staatliche Handelsschule Berliner Tor in Hamburg, Germany. She is also a magna cum laude graduate of Florida International University with a bachelor's degree in economics. Kornelia has been a member of the Miami-Dade County Freight Transportation Advisory Committee (FTAC) since 2007. She was elected as the group's Vice Chair in 2009. The committee is a panel made up of local business professionals which advise county government on expected freight movements and its anticipated impact on local traffic and infrastructure. Additionally, Kornelia is a member of The Association for the Study of the Cuban Economy (ASCE) and of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA).

Ricardo Valdés

Ricardo Valdés has more than 25 years of diverse financial experience, most of it in shipping and third-party logistics. Prior to starting with TIVALCO, he was responsible for Hapag-Lloyd's financial affairs in Latin America as Director of Finance and Administration. He is a graduate of The University of Florida with a degree in Business Administration, Major in Accounting. His professional career began in Texas in the oil and gas industry. His first job was as internal auditor for a publicly traded company with investments in several sectors of the energy industry. From there he advanced to Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst and to Supervisor responsible for Forecasts of the regional markets. He joined a natural gas trading company as Controller before relocating to South Florida. His entrance into the logistics sector was in 1991 as Controller for Stair Cargo Services in Miami.
