YUKON AVALANCHE ASSOCIATION

The Yukon Avalanche Association, a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 2010 to promote avalanche safety and awareness among backcountry users. Since 2011, the YAA has partnered with Avalanche Canada to deliver an avalanche forecast for the White Pass, and each year delivers public outreach events. The YAA has also developed Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES) maps, brochures and roadside signage for the White Pass and Haines Summit regions, as well as a detailed terrain atlas... The Yukon Avalanche Association was formed in 2010. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting avalanche awareness, public education & preparedness for those who recreate in avalanche terrain... The Yukon Avalanche Association is a non-profit Yukon based society established in 2010. Our primary purpose is to promote avalanche safety and education for winter backcountry users.
