Adam is now a consultant who focuses on complex property situations and development solutions. Adam has also appeared as an Expert Witness in the English Upper Tribunal and Hong Kong Lands Tribunal.

Adam is a chartered surveyor with over 20 years experience providing lease advisory services to both landlords and tenants. Adam provides advice over a range of property sectors but focuses predominantly on warehouse/logistics/trade counters and offices. Adam's career has specialised in the negotiation of lease terms and rents for the purposes of rent reviews, lease renewals and lease regearing. This has provided Adam with in-depth knowledge and experience in handling these discussions and when necessary in acting as an expert witness for third party dispute resolution. Because Adam has specialist in lease advisory experience covering a period of 20 years he has experience in dealing with negotiations in both rising and falling property markets.

Alan is the Head of Business Rates at DWD and has more than 25 years experience in the UK business rates industry with a rounded knowledge of all sectors and expertise in complex and high value appeals.
Expert in Business Rates, Alan specialises in advising on technical and legal issues, with extensive experience of negotiating appeal settlements and taking cases to tribunal. In addition to traditional case work, Alan takes personal ownership of the business rates affairs for a number of significant clients.
Alice joined DWD in January 2018 after completing her degree from the University of Reading in Economics (BSc Hons) and a Masters from CASS Business School in Real Estate. She qualified as a chartered surveyor in November 2020, is an RICS Registered Valuer and an affiliate member of the Rating Surveyors' Association.
Alice works on a wide range of commercial property matters, including lease advisory, valuation, business rates and compulsory purchase claims. Alice has experience working with both landlords and tenants in commercial, residential and mixed-use properties.

Andrew joined DWD in October 2017. He is a chartered town planner with 13 years of experience as a planning practitioner in the private sector, including five years in New Zealand. His experience spans all sectors of planning and has advised housebuilders, developers, landowners, local authorities, education institutions, private companies and higher net worth individuals.
Andrew specialises in the co-ordination of multi-disciplinary project teams, and the preparation and negotiation of all types of planning applications with particular experience of securing permissions for residential and mixed-use developments. He is happy to lead or integrate with project teams.
Andrew's approach is to combine sound land use planning evidence with good design/place-making, sustainability, and commercial/deliverability considerations as a means of informing/challenging policy and achieving value for his clients. Underpinning his approach is an appreciation of national/local political drivers and the importance of maintaining effective working relationships with planning authorities.

Brent Cross South, Brent Cross Cricklewood Regeneration Area: Andrew is an ongoing planning advisor for Argent Related with respect to their development of Brent Cross South. In April 2019, Andrew secured reserved matters approval for Plot 11 comprising 352 residential units, flexible retail (Use Classes A1/A3) and a Neighbourhood Police Unit. He has also obtained approval for the Clarefield Park Temporary Replacement Open Space and is advising on the replacement Claremont Primary School.
55-59 Lombard Road, Battersea: Andrew has secured full planning permission for the phased redevelopment of this site for a residential-led mixed use development comprising buildings ranging from 1-20 storeys in height accommodating 168 residential units, offices, ground floor retail, an upgraded Big Yellow self-storage facility and an artists' studio.
Colindale Gardens (Former Peel Centre), Colindale: Andrew has acted for Redrow with the implementation of a hybrid planning permission for the redevelopment of a 29 hectare former Metropolitan Police Service training centre site for 2,900 homes, a neighbourhood centre (up to 10,000m 2 of commercial floorspace and a major food store), and primary school. Andrew provided strategic planning advice, led liaison with the LB Barnet and managed numerous Reserved Matters applications, minor material (s73) and non-material amendment (s96a) applications, and the phased discharge of planning conditions.

Qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1985, Andrew was a founding Partner of Howes & Holden, a niche Retail Practice he ran for 25 years before merging with DWD in 2013. His work takes him throughout England & Wales, dealing with all formats of retail premises but with particular interest in the food supermarket sector, large space occupiers and Department Stores. In addition to providing advice on strategy for rent reviews, renewals, re-gears and restructuring, Andrew is also on the Panel of Arbitrators and Independent Experts appointed by the RICS for dispute resolution.
In 2000 Andrew qualified as an Arbitrator on the RICS Dispute Resolution Panel and followed this by qualifying in 2002 as an Independent Expert on the same Panel of dispute resolvers.

Andrew is a partner in the Business Rates team at DWD and has over 25 years experience in the UK business rates working across all commercial sectors and providing expertise on complex and high value appeals.
Andrew has previously worked for Allsop & Co, Donaldsons, The Valuation Office Agency, Cushman & Wakefield Healy & Baker and Bayram Vickery Meech prior to joining DWD. During that time he has managed compulsory purchase compensation claims, commercial mortgage valuations, valuations for stock market financial results and portfolio performance, rent reviews, lease renewals and market appraisals for private and auction sale principally in London and the South East.
Andrew has 25 years post qualification experience in valuation and lease advisory matters, with significant experience acting as an expert witness in property disputes having given evidence in the High Court, County Court, Tribunals and Arbitrations. His clients include leading legal practices, public and private companies, SME's and private individuals. He began his career with the Valuation Office Agency in 1993 where he undertook statutory valuation work and has, subsequently, worked in private practice since 1995 holding Director and Equity Partner positions in Thames Valley and, latterly, Central London private practices.
Properties advised upon cover commercial offices, warehousing and development sites where he regularly prepares expert evidence for the Courts. In a lease advisory capacity, Andrew specialises in office and warehouse property in London & the South East where he has practiced for his entire career. He has undertaken a significant of work in this discipline, advising clients in Arbitrations and Independent Expert Determinations, also appearing to give evidence at the County Court in contested 1954 Act lease renewals.
Qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1995, Andrew was formerly a Director at Avison Young and, prior to this, an equity partner at Levy LLP. Barry has over 16 years experience in planning and development consultancy, advising a wide range of clients including national housebuilders, developers, landowners, religious institutions and education providers. Barry qualified as a Chartered Town Planner in 2007 and is a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
With experience in all areas of planning, Barry's recent projects include large Greenfield Urban Extensions, high density mixed use developments, smaller urban development sites and new and extended schools and churches.
From project inception to completion, Barry provides clients with comprehensive advice on the planning and development viability of sites, advising and coordinating the full design team to ensure a successful outcome.

Callum joined DWD in 2021 after graduating from Cardiff University with a BSc (Hons) in Urban Planning and Development. As part of his degree, Callum completed a research-based dissertation that investigated the role of the built environment in influencing walking diversions.
Prior to working at DWD, Callum worked in a local authority, in a customer facing role supporting the planning team with validation and delivery- related tasks.

Charlie is a chartered town planning consultant with over five years experience in the private sector working for multidisciplinary property consultancies within London.
His background in providing consultancy advice for commercial and residential clients has led Charlie to have a keen eye for identifying potential and advising on the appropriate planning strategy for complex sites.
Charlie has developed a personable approach to managing the preparation of planning applications and the negotiation process. He has worked for a range of clients across different sectors and strives to ensure the best outcome with each project. Most recently, Charlie has managed the planning application process for major commercial and residential schemes in London Boroughs of Haringey, Bexley and Ealing.

Chris is a Senior Associate in the Business Rates team at DWD and has over 25 year's experience in the Commercial Property Sector working primarily in London, the Southeast and East Anglia.
Chris has previously worked at CBRE, JLL and Barker Storey Matthews before joining DWD. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1998 and has since been a General Practice Surveyor, for the past circa 10 years specializing in Business Rates and Landlord and Tenant work. In terms of business rates, he has taken cases to Valuation Tribunal as an Expert Witness, in particular achieving notable success at VT at Somerset House, The Strand, London which resulted in the tone at this iconic property being reduced.
He has completed appeals in all sector types including retail, office and industrial and also Specialist assessments for Pubs, Hotels and Private Members Clubs. He is a member of the Rating Surveyors Association.
Chris has also completed valuations for various purposes including formal Red Book valuations for loan security and other purposes and is a Registered Valuer.
Clara has over 4 years of experience as a planning practitioner in the private sector and has worked on a wide range of projects. Clara has an understanding of mixed-use, commercial, leisure and residential planning, predominantly in London and South East England.
Clara holds degrees from the University of Birmingham in Geography and Planning (BSc Hons) and the University of Westminster in Urban Design (MA). She was elected as an Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute in November 2018.

Colin is a chartered town planner with 16 years' experience in the private sector, with 11 years' experience consenting energy and infrastructure projects and progressing Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) under the Planning Act 2008. Colin leads teams and collaborates with environmental and legal advisors to achieve legal robustness, exceed project requirements and timescales, and secure viable consents that support investment decisions.
In the power sector he has led the planning of a number of DCO and similar scale projects for EP UK Investments, SSE Thermal, and Stag Energy. During 2020 he managed the examination of the South Humber Bank Energy Centre DCO and the submission of the Keadby 3 Carbon Capture Power Station DCO. He has also obtained planning permissions and related consents for energy from waste plants, battery storage, reserve power plants, district CHP plants, and gas storage projects.
In the transport sector, he led the optioneering for alternative terminal designs on the Heathrow West DCO project and has worked on the Airports National Policy Statement preparations. He has led the planning of several highways DCOs on the motorway network and the strategic road network and was consents advisor to Crossrail 2 establishing the hybrid bill consent strategy.

Connor joined DWD in August 2021, having gained experience in the private sector working for multidisciplinary property consultants within London. He has worked for a range of clients and, most recently, has managed the planning application process for major residential schemes in the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Hammersmith & Fulham.
At DWD he has worked on a number of projects across various sectors, with a particular focus on commercial planning where he has worked on tasks including appraising sites and managing the submission of planning applications.

Emma qualified as a Chartered member of the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors in 2014 and as a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2015. Emma is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association and a RICS Registered Valuer.

Geoff is a town planner and Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and has worked in planning consultancy for over 25 years. He advises clients across a range of sectors but has particular expertise in relation to nationally significant infrastructure projects and major industrial, warehousing and logistics developments.
Geoff regularly acts as lead planning advisor on nationally significant infrastructure projects, particularly within the energy sector, including thermal power projects, pipelines, carbon capture, utilisation and storage, energy from waste and solar developments, amongst others. He leads an infrastructure planning focused team at DWD and is experienced in delivering consents under a number of regimes, including the Planning Act 2008 (applications for development consent), the Electricity Act 1989 (Section 36 and 37 applications) and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. Hannah has over 9 years experience advising on UK planning matters with knowledge of a range of sectors including; large-scale residential, urban redevelopment, retail and energy infrastructure projects. She joined DWD in January 2017 having previously worked within private consultancies in London and Bristol.
She advises on the development of mixed-use, residential and commercial property in London and the south-east.
Hannah has experience managing the process to make applications for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects through Development Consent Orders and varying applications under S36C of the Electricity Act. She coordinates with technical specialists the delivery of Environmental Statements to comply with the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations.
Hannah is involved in all aspects of the planning process from the provision of commercially focused initial planning advice and undertaking planning appraisals, preparing and submitting planning applications and negotiating with Local Planning Authorities post-submission to secure the best results for her clients. Her work in large-scale residential and energy development has resulted in knowledge of the Environmental Impact Assessment process. Hannah is also experienced at preparing retail impact assessments to support applications for retail development.

Harriet is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and has over 6 years' experience, gained in both the public and private sector. She has a range of experience working largely on major planning applications for residential, industrial and community developments. She has been instrumental in securing planning permission for a number of complex schemes on sensitive sites, including a new primary school in Lambeth, temporary events in Kensington and Chelsea, major residential developments in the South East and industrial developments across the UK.
Alongside her experience preparing and managing planning applications, she has a breadth of experience in undertaking due diligence and site appraisals in order to provide clients with robust strategy advice. She has also managed site promotions through the Local Plan process, preparing representations for private clients and neighbourhood groups, and managed a number of planning appeals including assisting senior colleagues at planning inquiries.
She has previously advised the Arora Group on planning matters for Heathrow West, a new terminal at Heathrow Airport, where she assisted with the consultation and DCO application process and is currently working on a range of industrial projects achieving planning permission for complex sites across the UK.
James has been working in the UK planning and development industry since 2015 having graduated with an MSc in Urban and Regional Development from Cardiff University. James has experience across a range of sectors and an understanding of retail, commercial, residential and infrastructure planning. He was elected as an Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute in February 2018 and as a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2020.
Across his range of work he has taken both a lead on new projects and also smoothly integrated into project teams whom are already in place. This has enabled him to develop his communication skills to adapt to working with a wide range of clients and dealing with external stakeholders.
James current work focuses on the development of mixed use, residential and commercial property development which is predominately in London and the South East. He also works with DWD's infrastructure team on energy and related development throughout the UK.
Jane joined DWD as a PA to the Partners in 2001 and from 2015, now assists Peter Jakob in the finance team.
Jeff has over 30 years experience in the business rates industry starting his career in the City with Sinclair Goldsmith before moving to the west end with Edwin Hill. Jeff was also a Partner at Farebrother where he was Head of Rating concentrating on the Central London office market before running his own property consultancy providing clients with strategic property advice.
Jeff's expertise extends to all categories of rating valuation work including appeals, deletions and completion notices and through the bulk classes to specialist casework ranging from racing stables to exclusive use venues. He has made successful representations at Valuation Tribunal and at Magistrates Court.
He has represented clients in all major industry sectors including the Automotive Industry, Communications, Banking, Legal, Real Estate, Leisure and Retail and executed successful appeal work on behalf of Ford Motor Co, BT, Farrer & Co, Lewis Silkin, Bird & Bird, The Bar Council, Blackstone, The Chubb Group, Wickes and The Co - operative Group.

Jonathan recently joined the team at DWD and has over 18 years planning experience. For the last 10 years, he has been seconded to major infrastructure projects, working on their preparation, submission, examination and delivery.
Jonathan started his career as a planning officer in local government before moving into private practice in 2008 where he worked on a range of projects, including Crossrail and a number of residential and industrial schemes as well as drafting of Local Plan policy on behalf of a local borough council.
In 2011 Jonathan was seconded to Thames Tideway Tunnel and spent the next 10 years on major infrastructure programmes in the waste water, aviation and highway sectors. He has been involved in all stages of the DCO process and specialises in formulating effective planning strategies, managing stakeholder relationships and articulating robust needs cases in response to challenging policy requirements.
Jonathan excels in building collaborative working relationships both in-house and across the spectrum of stakeholders and has an intimate understanding of the consenting regimes in both the Town and Country Planning Act (1990) and the Planning Act (2008).
More recently Jonathan has been working on a number of solar and renewable energy schemes across the UK, delivering feasibility studies, preparing applications and negotiating with local authorities.

Jordan joined DWD in August 2018, having previously worked in the public sector where he specialised in Enforcement, Appeals and Development Management. Louise is a chartered town planner with over 5 years' experience. She joined DWD in 2021 having previously worked in the public and private sector.
Louise has worked across a number of sectors, including residential, student accommodation, retail, commercial and energy projects.
Louise has experience across the planning process, including preparing and managing a range of planning applications. This involves co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams and monitoring the application post submission, including negotiating with local authorities. Louise's experience also includes preparing planning appraisals across a variety of sectors, preparation of local plan representations to promote sites and running community consultations.
Lucy joined DWD in March 2021 as a Graduate Planner, following the completion of an RTPI accredited Masters degree in Infrastructure Planning and Sustainable Development (MSc) from Oxford Brookes. As part of her degree, Lucy completed a dissertation that investigated smart city initiatives in the developing world, particularly focusing upon identifying the barriers and opportunities for using smart city initiatives to achieve inclusive development. Prior to this, Lucy graduated with a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Liverpool in 2020.
While at DWD, Lucy has been working on a wide range of projects, having experience in various sectors including residential, infrastructure, renewable energy, and mixed-use projects.

Nick became a Chartered Town Planner in 2012 and has over ten years of experience in the private sector. Nick joined DWD in October 2014 and prior to this he was seconded long-term to the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project (a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project) and gained experience from early stage involvement in the process of obtaining the Development Consent Order (DCO) under the Planning Act 2008.
Nick has worked across a range of development sectors including residential, commercial, mixed-use, energy and major infrastructure. He specialises in planning feasibility, formulating robust planning strategies, managing the application process and project management. He has successfully promoted developments in the green belt and other countryside locations as well as on constrained urban sites.
Throughout various projects, Nick has liaised with planning authorities and statutory consultees, negotiated planning and environmental issues, participated at community consultation exercises and provided support at public inquiries.

Peter has in excess of 32 years' professional experience in both the public and private property sectors and is a RICS Registered Valuer.
He was previously a Partner and Head of Valuation, Compensation & Litigation at Rapleys LLP following 11 years with the Valuation Office Agency before joining DWD in January 2018.
In addition to his private sector work, he is a fee paid Valuer Chairman of the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
Peter has a particular specialism in providing Expert valuation advice in respect of contentious matters concerning the application of statutory principles and negotiating settlements. He also provides professional valuation, site assembly and strategic advice to corporate and individual clients throughout the UK on development opportunities, including the delivery of high profile complex residential/mixed use development and regeneration schemes.
Peter has extensive experience in providing detailed compulsory purchase and compensation advice dealing with all aspects of the process from scheme inception, including the negotiation of Development/Indemnity Agreements, through to the settlement of compensation claims or presentation of evidence to the Lands Chamber or arbitration proceedings. As part of this Peter also presents expert evidence to CPO Public Inquiries, Parliamentary Select Committees and DCO examinations.
He also provides expert evidence to the County Court and High Court and as part of mediation and adjudication proceedings in respect of professional negligence and disputes concerning Option Agreements, Overage provisions, utility easements/wayleaves, s18 (1) LTA diminution/covenant breaches, and Rights of Light profit assessments. In addition, Peter advises in respect of s84 LPA covenant modification/discharge applications to the Lands Chamber.
Peter also provides viability advice as well as presenting expert valuation and viability evidence in support of planning appeals and Inquiries.
Peter is regularly appointed by the RICS and accepts appointments, by the agreement of the parties to act as an Independent Expert in respect of "non rent" valuation disputes typically concerning development disputes.
