Barbara Lemmel

Barbara is originally from the Midwest. Her early interest in the human body and sports led her to pursue a career in athletic training and physical therapy. Through her education and residency training she has worked with various athletic teams at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Her experiences with patients from the time of injury through return to play decisions gives her an edge when working to get patients back to their normal activities. She has also completed extensive coursework in trigger point dry needling and treating chronic pain to help her address multiple factors that may affect a patient's recovery. When outside the clinic, Barbara enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, yoga, and spending time outside with her family and dogs.

Dr. Caitlin Koelling

Dr. Caitlin Koelling was raised on the remote island of Sitka, Alaska, where she grew up enjoying boating, camping and fishing. Since the age of 3, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. She graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Science, with an emphasis in pre-medicine. Wanting to take a few years off between undergrad and medical school, she found a job as a medical assistant in a podiatry office that set her on the path to treating feet. She graduated from the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine with honors and completed her residency training at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, serving as chief resident. Dr. Koelling joined Alaska Foot & Ankle Specialists in 2021, and she is excited to be back home, treating Alaskans and enjoying camping, boating and winter sports in her home state.

Dr. Chris Jetter

Dr. Chris Jetter grew up in Greenville, Ohio, and he's quite fond of the country lifestyle. He enjoys reminiscing about bonfires, football and the much more affordable produce found in the Midwest. Dr. Jetter attended Taylor University, a small, Christian, liberal arts school in northern Indiana, graduating cum laude with a degree in exercise science and a minor in biology. Combining his degree with athletics in college, he developed a deep appreciation for sports and exercise and their associated injuries. He met his wife, Hannah, who grew up in Glennallen, Alaska, while in class at Taylor University. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating magna cum laude in 2012. After graduation, Dr. Jetter began residency at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Evansville, Indiana. Evansville afforded amazing opportunities to develop clinical and surgical skills and, while there, he was intimately involved in podiatric, vascular and orthopedic surgeries. Dr. Jetter then pursued further surgical training, completing a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery in Louisville, Kentucky. He was afforded opportunities to hone his skills under world-class surgeons and developed more surgical assets in adult and pediatric reconstruction. Dr. Jetter is well-versed in general podiatric medicine and surgery, foot and ankle trauma, sports medicine, total ankle replacement, charcot reconstruction, and the application and use of external fixation devices. Fellowship afforded him the opportunity to further develop these skills, and he has added the unique subset specialty of revision foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Jetter joined Alaska Foot & Ankle Specialists in 2016, much to the ecstasy of his wife, who is glad to be back home in Alaska. They currently have four boys, and they can be found hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountain biking or running all over Alaska.

Dr. David Randall

Born and raised in Utah, Dr. David Randall graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1990. During high school he enjoyed soccer, playing the bass in the orchestra and singing in the Cottonwood High School Madrigal Choir. Dr. Randall could regularly be found in the mountains all over his home state. After high school, he spent two years in Germany. Upon returning to the U.S., Dr. Randall attended the University of Utah and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in medical biology. During his undergraduate education, Dr. Randall explored different medical specialties and found that podiatry fit well with his life goals. He subsequently entered the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University, graduating in 2000. Following graduation, Dr. Randall received his residency training at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. In his final year of residency, he served as chief podiatry resident. Following the completion of residency in 2003, Dr. Randall accepted a position working for the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he held the position of chief of podiatry until 2012. Articles authored by Dr. Randall have been published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and he has been involved in the education of medical students, residents, and Special Forces medics. Dr. Randall joined Alaska Foot & Ankle Specialists in February of 2012.

Dr. Jared Kern

Dr. Jared Kern was born in Colorado and raised throughout the U.S. He is an avid runner, skier, packrafter, kayaker, photographer, and enjoys the outdoors. He graduated from college with a degree in photography and subsequently went on to study podiatry, graduating from Des Moines University as a doctor of podiatric medicine in 2005. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Kern underwent comprehensive training in conservative and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle at the Encino Tarzana Regional Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program in Los Angeles. Following residency, Dr. Kern started practice in 2008 in southwest Washington, in Olympia and Centralia before moving to Alaska in 2011. Living in Alaska was a dream of his since childhood. He and his wife are the proud parents of five children. Dr. Kern is often found on the trails around Anchorage. Dr. Kern speaks fluent Spanish.

Dr. Jennifer Jansma

Born and raised in Montana, Dr. Jennifer Jansma graduated from Billings West High School in 1991. She attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, and completed a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology at OHSU in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Jansma graduated from California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco in 2002. Dr. Jansma joined Alaska Foot & Ankle Specialists in 2005. Heather Hassett

Heather comes to us from the East Coast. She specializes in treating patients who benefit from gait and balance training, orthopedic rehabilitation, pre/post-surgical care, and sports medicine services. She also has additional continuing education in vestibular rehabilitation and post-concussion syndrome. She enjoys running and spending time outdoors with her dog in her free time.

Reid Goneau

Reid was born and raised in Alaska. She is a skilled and passionate provider that enjoys treating a wide range of orthopedic and neurological conditions. She has continued education in LSVT Big program for the treatment of individuals with Parkinson's and is also Trigger Point Dry Needling certified. She has a special interest in treating gait and balance disorders as well as pre/post-surgical conditions. When not in the clinic you will see her outside taking advantage of all that Alaska has to offer with her two dogs Juke and Tula.
