Bridget Marks - CFO

Before joining the NZDF, Bridget worked for Deloitte for 16 years in various financial roles. She has helped more than 200 clients with financial services in both public and private sectors. Marks began working for the NZDF in 2012 as the Finance Manager, Headquarters. In 2015, she was promoted to Deputy Chief Financial Officer. She has held the role of Chief Financial Officer since 28 September 2018. Education Bachelor of Commerce degree from Victoria University The CFO in the military manages finances, budgets, and advises on financial decisions to support military operations effectively. They works closely with military commanders and other high-ranking officials to provide financial guidance and support strategic decision-making. Bridget is also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Commodore Golding

Commodore Golding began his Navy career as a Seaman Officer in January 1988. He spent most of his early years at sea and specialized in Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving. He held different roles such as Staff Officer Diving and Commanding Officer of HMNZS Manawanui. In 2003, Golding was assigned to Wellington and completed several roles including: Maritime Planner Joint Training Branch Head Inspector General of the Navy Project Manager for the Littoral Operations Support Capability project. After that, he was appointed as the Commander of the Deployable Joint Inter-Agency Task Force, Assistant Chief of Navy (Strategy and Engagement), and Director of Maritime Domain in Capability Branch.

Jacinda Funnell - CHRO

Funnell's impressive public service career spans over 25 years, starting in 1996 at the Ministry of Defence. During her time with us, she's worked on a wide range of defense policy issues. She has also held notable positions, including serving as a private secretary to the Minister of Defence and working in the Australian Department of Defence. Funnell has represented New Zealand at international defense and transport forums, promoting collaboration and exchanging expertise. Education Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies from the University of Otago Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the Australian National University. The Chief People Officer (CPO) plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of personnel and human resources. They develop and implement strategies to align the workforce with the NZDF's goals, ensuring we have the right talent and skills. In addition to her professional achievements, Funnell is an active member of the Zonta Club of Wellington, demonstrating her commitment to community engagement and empowering women in various fields.

Major General John Boswell, DSD joined the New Zealand Army in January 1984. He graduated from the Officer Cadet School of New Zealand in December 1985. He soon entered the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment as Second Lieutenant. Major General Boswell became Chief of the New Zealand Army on 10 September 2018. Throughout his career, Major General Boswell has held many roles, including: Chief Instructor of Combat School Director Army Training Military Assistant at the New Zealand High Commission in London. Head of Strategy Management (Army) Acting Deputy Chief of Army Chief Staff Officer - Joint Plans at Headquarters Joint Forces New Zealand Assistant Chief Strategic Commitments and Engagements Land Component Commander. The Chief of Army is the most senior officer of the New Zealand Army. They are responsible for leading, managing, and developing the army and civilian personnel. The Chief of Army reports to the Chief of Defence Force.
