Matt studied Mechatronics at Massey University in Palmerston North, starting at Brunton Engineering as part of his study placement in December 2020. He started out as a welder-fabricator part time to gain workshop experience.
In November 2022, the Hans CNC Fibre Laser arrived, where Matt was critical in its smooth implementation into Brunton Engineering and became the primary operator full time.
July 2023 Matt started his apprenticeship and began working as an estimator/draftsman. He has been using his CAD experience to aid with design and drafting over Brunton Engineering's entire project portfolio while also learning the skills required to become a fully-fledged junior project manager from our own experienced team. Matt has a good eye for detail and keen to learn, his enthusiasm always showing in his efforts to help our customers achieve the best design solution for whatever task is at hand.
Matt's interests include working on automotive design and development, and computer hardware.

Tom joined the team in August 2022 as the Workshop Manager with 15 years of engineering experience behind him.
Tom has worked in the heavy transport industry where he completed his trade in 2012 in Feilding.
He moved to Wellington in 2015 where he was the structural site supervisor on jobs ranging from residential homes up to 50T commercial sites and the Transmission Gully project. Tom loves the variety of projects that comes from working with Brunton Engineering's diverse clientele, ensuring that his days are fast paced and always filled with something new and exciting to tackle. His role has him working closely with the workshop, the site engineering team, and our project managers; to help organise our resources and using his wealth of knowledge to ensure our customers projects run smoothly from start to finish.
In his spare time, he loves playing golf, getting outdoors on hikes, mountain biking, golfing, and spending time with his wife and daughter. Did we mention he likes golf?
