Ben Romans, founder and past President of Cornerstone Home Improvement, began his career in the window and siding business back in the late 1960s. His career began as an installer and expediter of window replacement, siding, enclosures, covers, and doors with numerous home improvement companies. Ben's reputation of excellence in workmanship and service soon put him in demand resulting in the establishment of his first company, Benco Services. Benco, purely an installation company, serviced clients such as Sears, Better Homes, Heritage Exterior, First Choice, and many more for over 20 years. In 1997, well known and respected in the home improvement industry, Ben decided to take his company a step further by opening a division of Benco, Cornerstone Home Improvement as a full service company offering premium products and installation to thousands of home owners. With his existing crews and armed with the knowledge that comes from 40 plus years of experience, Ben's company, Cornerstone Home Improvement has become one of the fastest growing, largest locally owned window and siding businesses in the KC market. Ben has won numerous awards over the years for his expertise in installing and customer service and is listed as an Honored Professional in the National Register, WHO'S WHO in Executives and Business Professionals, recipient of many national installers Awards, Local Installer of the Month Awards, Royal Building Product's Royal Gold Crown Dealer, Reynolds/Norandex's Certified Home Improvement Specialist, Alside's Exterior Designer's Award, National Association of Remodeler's Industry Exterior Specialty Honor Award and many more.

Brenda Walters

Brenda was the former owner and in the industry with Cornerstone Home Improvement for over 25 years, handling an average of over 500 home improvement projects a year. Brenda recently retired. One of the few women in this male dominated industry, Brenda entered into this field with aspirations of following in the footsteps of her father, Ben Romans. Brenda was a member of the Natl. Assoc. of the Remodeling Industry and the Raytown and KC Chamber of Commerce. Brenda was also on the board of the Better Business Bureau for 3 years and the Chairman of the Board for one of those years. Extremely proud of their three-generation strong business, Brenda is happy to pass the torch to her daughter Me'Shelle. She understands as well as Brenda the philosophy of treating every customer's home as if it were her own.
