Ade Ahmed

Ade Ahmed holds a Master Degree in Counseling Psychology and an Albert Ellis Institute (New York) certification in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (RE-CBT). She is a registered member of the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) with experience working with adult and youth with mental health issues, using evidence based and problem focus Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Techniques. She has years of experience providing individual and group therapy within multidisciplinary health care settings. Ade is also a certified Executive/Life Coach and Alternative Conflict Resolution (ADR) graduate with years of experience in Human Resources Management/Development settings.

Dawn Adamson

Dawn Adamson is a registered nurse and psychotherapist with over 25 yrs experience in mental health and addictions. She is a graduate of the nursing program at St. Lawrence College, Brockville. She holds dual certifications in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and is a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse. Dawn received supervision from Dr. Ellis during her studies at the Albert Ellis institute where she received her Associate Fellowship and is an Accredited Supervisor.

Dr. AG Ahmed

Job Titles:
  • Psychiatrist
AG Ahmed is a psychiatrist, an Associated Fellow and accredited supervisor at Albert Ellis Institute of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Dr. Ahmed has trained mental health professionals in Canada, the USA and Africa, including clinicians at the WHO Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health. His primary clinical practice is based at the Ottawa and Brockville campuses of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group in Ontario, Canada. He holds an academic position as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa, Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at Queen's University and a cross appointment in the School Criminology, University of Ottawa. Dr. Ahmed's research interests and clinical practice include the assessment and treatment of patients with major mental disorders, dysfunctional anger and aggression and psychotherapy in forensic settings. He has authored peer-reviewed articles and has presented both nationally and internationally in his areas of special interest and mental health in general. He is the co-author of the recently published "Addiction and Co-occurring Disorders from a SMART Recovery Perspective: A Manual for Group Therapists.

Dr. Bill Winogron

Dr. Bill Winogron is a licensed clinical psychologist, author, trainer, and mentor. In addition to solo and group clinical practices, he has spent two decades training students and professionals in evidence-influenced psychology, especially Cognitive Behavioral and Rational Emotive therapies. Dr. Winogron has co-authored several internationally-implemented treatment and training programs, notably the Anger and Emotions Management Program, CALM- Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage it, CALMER, and the Violence Booster Program. He has served executive roles in two technology companies, most recently S4Potential Corp., dedicated to the dissemination of psychological content via web technologies.

Vanessa Woods

  • Social Worker in the Forensic Program at the ROMHC
Vanessa Woods is a social worker in the forensic program at the ROMHC with clinical responsibilities partly for individuals with dysfunctional anger. She has received social work training from McGill University and is an Accredited Supervisor of the Albert Ellis Institute of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy in New York City. Her research interests include gender and anger/aggression as well as the impact of anger and aggression upon family members and loved ones. She is passionate about ensuring access and support of services and resources to those who struggle with mental health issues and, as a result, is actively involved on the board of directors for the Roberts Smart Centre and Project Upstream, two mental health agencies in the community, and is also on the advisory panel for eMentalHealth.ca.
