Dr. Amanda Dexter

Dr. Amanda Dexter earned her bachelor's degree from UCLA in physiologic science and received her optometric training at Southern California College of Optometry where she was the class of 2010's co-valedictorian and president of Beta Sigma International Optometric Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Dexter continued her education as a Resident at the VA San Diego Healthcare System in La Jolla where she gained an extensive amount of clinical experience in ocular disease management, and traumatic brain injury and low vision rehabilitation. In addition to joining Del Mar Optometric, Dr. Dexter will continue her practice at NVISION Eye Centers in La Jolla where she manages refractive surgery and cataract patients and has already met many of you! Dr. Dexter is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is the President of the California Optometric Association. She is a past-president of the San Diego County Optometric Society and recipient of both SDCOS and COA's Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2017 and 2018, and San Diego County Optometrist of the Year in 2021. Dr. Dexter is very excited to join Del Mar Optometric alongside her colleague and former classmate, Dr. Andrew Fasciani!

Dr. Andrew Fasciani

Dr. Andrew Fasciani graduates from SCCO (same graduate school as Dr. Graham) and joins Del Mar Optometric. His patient-based approach mirrors that of his mentor and they quickly begin growing the practice, drawing patients from all over San Diego. Dr. Andrew Fasciani graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern California College of Optometry. During his time there, he completed externships at various Native American and VA hospitals. While studying at these locations, he gained valuable experience in pediatrics, geriatrics and ocular disease, including the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. After graduation, he moved back to Del Mar to practice alongside Dr. Gregory Graham, who served as a mentor to Dr. Fasciani for two years before attending optometry school. Dr. Fasciani grew up in Canon City, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he received a degree in psychology with a minor in kinesiology. He looks forward to a long career serving the Del Mar community.​
