Dr Downing studied at Bristol university and graduated in 2011. She initially worked in Bristol and then Swindon, completing her GP training in 2017. Abby joined Elm Tree surgery in 2017 as a salaried GP and then became a partner at the surgery in 2018.
Abby runs contraceptive coil/implant clinics at Elm Tree Surgery and has an interest in Women's health and Dermatology.
Dr Cobley will be working on a Tuesday , Thursday and Friday

Having completed his training in Swindon, Francis qualified as a GP in 2014 and, following a brief period of locum work, became a partner at Elm Tree Surgery in Shrivenham in 2015. Francis has an interest in medicines management, diabetes and the primary care IT infrastructure. Francis also supports the local Clinical Commissioning Group as a Locality Healthcare professional for the Swindon locality.
Outside of work, Francis enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors with his young family.
Dr Bader will be supporting the practice on Wednesday and a Friday . Dr Bader can support patients with joint injections and has a special interest in dermatology .
Dr Smith studied at the University of Birmingham, and qualified as a GP in 2015. Dr Smith has worked at various practices in Swindon, before joining Elm Tree surgery in 2018. Initially working as a salaried GP, she joined the partnership in 2021. She has a clinical interest in cancer management. Dr Smith also has a passion for education and is a GP trainer.

Stephen is an experienced Primary Care Pharmacist for over 20yrs. He has a particular interest in managing patient's with long term conditions. He will be delivering Medication Reviews to ensure our patients get the best from their treatments. In addition, he will be supporting the wider clinical team with medicine related queries and is always happy to support patients with any medicine related information / questions.
Caroline Cooper qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1988 and has worked in a variety of settings, including hospital, and Primary Care.
She has an interest in Women's health, including contraception and cervical screening (smears) and childhood immunisations, but undertakes many other aspects of Practice Nursing in her role at Elm Tree Surgery.
