Allan Doughty - Chief Legal Officer

A Senior Counsel in the Dispute Resolution team, Allan Doughty has a strong practice which covers, but is not limited to, the following: tort law, including negligence and personal injury cases, contractual disputes human rights and antidiscrimination law constitutional law public law and judicial review medical law, including clinical negligence coroners' inquests privacy law, and professional disciplinary law. Clients who Allan regularly acts for include the Bermuda Hospitals Board, the Human Rights Commission, numerous individuals who have laid complaints pursuant to the Human Rights Act, numerous police officers, the Commissioner of Police and numerous professionals facing disciplinary charges. Professional Experience On returning to Bermuda from having qualified in Canada, Allan practiced with Trott & Duncan Limited for 10 years during which time he became recognized as a leading attorney in the areas of disciplinary law, medical law and human rights law. During this time, Allan appeared before various tribunals and all levels of Court in Bermuda. Additionally, from 2014 to 2020, Allan practiced with BeesMont Law Limited and was named as Head of Litigation for that firm in 2018. While with BeesMont, Allan argued some of Bermuda's leading cases in the areas of human rights and antidiscrimination law, the right to freedom of expression as guaranteed by the Constitution and medical law, with one of his cases on the issue of clinical negligence and causation being heard by the Privy Council.

Brian K Holdipp

Brian is Counsel in the firm's corporate practice group. His practice encompasses many areas of general corporate and commercial law, with specialist expertise in securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, corporate redomiciliations and cross-border financings (specialism in aviation and ship finance). He also advises on partnership and regulatory law, including on compliance with Bermuda's economic substance legislation and regulations. Professional Experience Prior to joining MJM in June 2012, Brian was an associate at another leading offshore law firm, working in their Bermuda and Singapore offices. Brian has acted as consultant to the Bermuda Monetary Authority, the island's integrated regulator of the financial services sector, where he advised on proposals to regulate the corporate service provider industry and to enhance the Authority's enforcement powers across the insurance, investment business, trusts and banking sectors. Donna Munoz-Pitcher

Mike Goulborn
