Northwest Nursery Buyers Association is a member owned cooperative located in the Pacific Northwest. It represents independent retail nurseries and garden centers in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Arizona and northern California. The cooperative assists members by coordinating group purchasing, providing central billing functions and providing educational opportunities for its member retailers... In 1980, a group of Oregon independent garden centers got together and made a group purchase with Jackson & Perkins rose growers to obtain a favorable quantity discount. The program worked well, and in 1983 the group incorporated as a cooperative and officially formed one of the first independent retail nursery buying groups in the country. The cooperative called itself the Oregon Nursery Buyers Association.
