Founded in 1978 as a private, non-profit organization, North Texas Higher Education Authority, Inc. (NTHEA) was created to ensure access to higher education for Texas students and families through the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). As a non-profit organization, NTHEA was able to provide liquidity to Texas lenders participating in FFELP as well as low-cost servicing. Over the years, NTHEA has provided millions of dollars worth of scholarships to schools, industry leading repayment benefits to its borrowers, and college preparation and financial literacy outreach services to thousands of students and parents throughout Texas... Founded in 1978 as a non-profit organization, we have dedicated our time and effort to ensure students and families across Texas have access to achieve a higher education.
