Alan Lang

Alan Lang is Auckland International Airport Ltd's wild Life Hazard Officer. Auckland Airport is sited on largely reclaimed land and as a result there is a potential danger from birds. His Nominator drew attention to dedication to the development of bird scaring techniques and his management of the environment to ensure the total bird numbers attracted to the airfield were reduced.

Andrew Lindup - CTO

In addition to implementing all technical policies of the Union, the Technical Director is responsible for working with the President in all technical matters, including assisting members with any incidents, accidents or other safety related issues that may occur while carrying out their flying duties. This work also extends to assisting other IFALPA affiliated members during their operation into or out of New Zealand. In addition, the Technical Director's role includes overseeing all the safety work undertaken by NZALPA. This ensures the New Zealand regulatory authorities and participants in the New Zealand aviation system are kept up to date with the latest international trends related to improvement of aviation safety through systems, procedures, training programs, and compliance with ICAO standards and recommended practices.

Angela Turner

Angela Turner joins us in the role of Accounts Assistant and provides accounting and clerical support to the Team. Angela brings with her 20 years' experience in the Accounting/Administration field. She has achieved a NZIM Certificate in Management, a NZ Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor Degree in Business. Her faith, family and friends are most important in her life and bring her the most happiness.

Captain Graeme Milligan

Captain Greg Fallow

Captain Greg Fallow is a Boeing 777 captain for Air New Zealand who has made a tremendous contribution to aviation safety over the years. An IFALPA accredited accident investigator, Capt. Fallow is well known for his contribution to safety in the aviation community and is accepted as a leading subject matter expert in human factors and fatigue management.

Captain Paul McCarthy

Captain Paul McCarthy is a retired Delta Airlines captain who has made significant contributions to the civil aviation industry in New Zealand and in the US. His expertise in accident investigation, CVR analysis, legal and regulatory affairs has been utilised in NZ and abroad. He has been a long standing member of IFALPA, volunteering his knowledge on safety issues. His expertise was also utilised in the investigation in the 1995 Dash 8 accident in Palmerston North.

The Secretary is appointed by the Board of Management (BoM). The Secretary is entitled to all the privileges of a Principal Officer but shall not be entitled to vote unless they are an elected Branch representative. The Secretary is responsible for attending to all membership related enquiries, advising members of conferences and meetings, organising any remits for such meetings, advising members of proposed rule changes, organising ballots for approval of such changes, recording details of the BoM and Conference meetings and being a BoM liaison person with the office staff.

John Hall

Following university John worked in a general practice firm but grew a passion for employment law. He has maintained an interest in infrastructure and transport and so joining NZALPA in 2019 was a natural fit for him. John enjoys looking into the details of the law in particular around employment and infrastructure related law. John is actively involved with a number of charities and NGOs and is a Director of Transparency International New Zealand Inc. John enjoys social badminton, law reform and travel in his spare time.

Justice Peter Thomas Mahon

Justice Peter Thomas Mahon QC received the 2009 Jim Collins Award for his exceptional contribution to aviation safety. Justice Mahon's controversial 1981 Royal Commission of Inquiry report into the 1979 Erebus air accident in Antarctica, cited organisational failure, ‘administration errors made by the Navigation Division', as the primary factor of the accident, and exonerated the pilots from the blame that was apportioned to them in the 1980 Chippindale Report.

Leo Liu

Leo Liu is NZALPA's Finance Manager. Leo is very experienced with NZALPA finances as he was previously our Auditor with the firm Crowe Howarth. Leo is responsible for the Financial integrity of NZALPA business and ensures that our books balance, with membership subscriptions being managed in a robust manner.

Mark Everitt

Mark Everitt is a former General Manager of the New Zealand Aviation Security Service for 20 years, with his passion and commitment to New Zealand aviation safety and security and his ongoing work in helping to improve aviation safety in the Pacific Islands.

Mark Milner

Mark Milner was a Safety Officer with the Auckland International Airport Company and was described by his Nominator as being devoted to establishing and maintaining, at Auckland International Airport, airside and landside practices and procedures for the safe movement of ground personnel and equipment. Also noted was the Airside Driving Course and Permit scheme which he instigated along with his planning, implementation and evaluation of the Airport Emergency Procedures and the many training seminars and emergency exercises that have been held was.

Michael Maguire - VP

The Vice President is responsible for overseeing all of the Union's financial and administrative affairs. Tracking the Union's financial performance to make sure it is keeping within the boundaries of the Conference approved budget. Ensuring that the employment arrangements with the NZALPA staff are kept up to date and carries out annual reviews of these arrangements.

Mrs Deborah Cameron

Deborah Cameron or representative will be invited to attend the Conference dinner to present the Award whenever practicable. Prior to the 1 st of March each year the Medical & Welfare Director of the Association shall seek nominations from throughout the aviation community for the Stewart Cameron Memorial Award. Nominations will be returned to NZALPA before the Friday of the fortnight prior to the Board of Management meeting that precedes Conference. Mrs Deborah Cameron or representative may be invited to discuss possible recipients of the Award with the presiding representatives. The Stewart Cameron Memorial Award shall be presented to an individual or individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to aviation industry peer support. Membership of NZALPA is not a prerequisite for receiving the Award.

Richard McCabe

Job Titles:

Richard joined NZALPA in 1999. As Legal Counsel his work essentially comprises of litigation and troubleshooting, as well as working closely with the rest of the Legal Team. After leaving school, Richard performed a variety of jobs, ending up in Australia. Upon his return to New Zealand, he completed a law degree at Auckland University. Richard's involvement with unions has been an ongoing one; when Richard left school in 1976, union membership was compulsory in New Zealand and he became a union delegate at the tender age of 17. Following the introduction of the Employment Contracts Act 1991 (and being made redundant under that Act), Richard set up his own industrial law practice specialising in personal grievances until joining the NZALPA team.

Robert Scott

Robert Scott was recommended for outstanding airmanship throughout his flying career, in particular selection and training of pilots. Robert contributed to the safety of pilots trained in agricultural flying both helicopters and fixed wing.

Sandra Parkinson

Sandra is an experienced Operations/Practice Manager with a demonstrated history of over 30 years working in professional services including the Chartered Accounting and Management Consulting industries. Sandra is responsible for the Operational Management of the organisation and supporting the Board and the wider NZALPA team. Recreationally, Sandra is passionate about all sports and has been actively involved in her three sons sporting activities including coaching, umpiring, scoring, and managing their teams, and has held positions on the board of various clubs. She also likes to spend time with family and friends and enjoys travel when the opportunity arises.

Stewart Cameron

Stewart Cameron was a well-respected Air Traffic Controller, instructor, and member of NZALPA, who experienced a period of psychosocial impairment. People in the aviation industry are particularly vulnerable to stress and mental health issues. It is a recognised significant risk due to the nature of the aviation industry and innate human fragility.
