Dr. Patel grew up in a small Kentucky town before moving to the west coast during high school. He attended the University of California at Davis, where he double majored in neurobiology and psychology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco. During his time at UCSF, he was able to complete a one year Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship at New York University. Dr. Patel completed his internship and residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of California at San Diego. In addition to this training program, he completed a year long National Institutes of Health-funded research project in tumor biology. Most recently, Dr. Patel spent a year in fellowship training in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at Mayo Clinic Arizona in Scottsdale. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Patel conducted research in tumor biology, treatment of head and neck cancer, head and neck reconstructive surgery and cancer treatment related hearing loss. Dr. Patel has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and has had the honor of speaking at symposiums including the International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Patel is Board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck surgery. His practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat disorders, the treatment of head and neck cancer and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Patel has experience with both traditional open and minimally-invasive procedures, including transoral laser microsurgery for head and neck cancer. He is also interested in the treatment of thyroid and endocrine disorders and in the prevention and treatment of skin cancers. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in the fall of 2017. Dr. Patel strives to provide the highest quality individualized care for his patients. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, exercising, gourmet cooking and exploring the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.

Dr. Hertler was raised and attended school in Wisconsin. As an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he earned his bachelor's degree in zoology. He was honored as the Outstanding Male Senior as a result of his academic and extracurricular achievement. At the University of Wisconsin Medical School, he served as class co-president and was elected to the AOA (Alpha Omega) honor society. He completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University and is board certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. He has been in practice since 1990 and has been selected three times by his peers as one of Portland's "Top Doctors," most recently in 2015. While his practice includes the full scope of the specialty, he has a special interest in the care of children with ear, nose and throat problems and the treatment of nasal and sinus conditions. Dr. Hertler is a strong believer in continuing medical education. As a result, he is able to provide current and innovative treatment techniques for chronic sinus conditions, snoring and a wide range of other conditions affecting the head and neck area. Outside of work, Dr. Hertler enjoys spending time with his family, including his two boys. Hiking, camping, mountaineering and road and mountain biking are his favorite past times. Known for his gentle touch and compassionate care, Dr. Hertler strives to deliver the highest quality care to his patients of all ages.

Dr. Furr is the President of the Oregon Academy of Otolaryngology and serves as Division Chief of Otolaryngology at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. Dr. Furr grew up in western Pennsylvania. He attended Tufts University in Massachusetts, where he earned his degree in Bio-psychology while representing the University as a NCAA Division III Varsity Soccer player. Dr. Furr completed his premedical studies at Harvard University. While attending Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor medical society. Dr. Furr then completed his internship and residency training in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Furr then spent a year in Fellowship training under the direction of Dr. Harry Mittelman, a leader in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, a subspecialty of Otolaryngology. Dr. Furr has conducted and published research in wound healing, reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, cleft palate treatments, and cosmetic facial plastic surgery. Dr. Furr has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, has co-authored medical textbook chapters, and has had the honor of speaking at national specialty meetings. Dr. Furr is Board Certified in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery. His practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of Ear, Nose, and Throat disorders, as well as Cosmetic and Reconstructive Facial Surgery. While his primary focus is in functional and cosmetic surgery of the nose (rhinoplasty), Dr. Furr is also experienced in the use of minimally-invasive techniques to combat aging, injectables, and dermal fillers. His interests also include management and surgery for sinus disorders as well as surgical treatment of skin cancers. In his free time Dr. Furr enjoys spending time with his wife and children, practicing astrophotography, playing golf, and downhill skiing.

Dr. Ray began her audiology career in 2000 after receiving her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Texas Tech University School of Health Sciences in Lubbock, TX. She went back to school while working full-time and received her Doctorate Degree in Audiology (AuD) from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2006. She has worked in an ENT setting since 2001. Dr. Ray is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and a member of the Oregon Academy of Audiology. Dr. Ray is passionate about her profession and understands how important it is to be able to communicate effectively with loved ones. She looks to help individuals who have concerns about their hearing find a solution. She strives to build strong, trusting relationships with the individuals she works with and the population she serves. In her time outside of work, Raney enjoys spending time with her husband, three kids and their adopted ex-racing Greyhound, Juney Bea. As a family they love to hike, camp, travel and work in the yard.
