Our focus is on biopharmaceuticals, implantable medical devices, insurance benefit design, and payment methods. Research initiatives include leadership roundtables, case studies of leading organizations, and econometric analyses of public and private data sources. Educational initiatives include courses and workshops for Berkeley students in public health (MPH), public policy (MPP), and business management (MBA), plus programs for executives and professionals in the health technology and service sectors... Berkeley Center for Health Technology (BCHT) promotes the efficiency and effectiveness of health care through research and education on the development, insurance coverage, payment, and appropriate use of medical technologies... BCHT offers several opportunities for Masters and Doctorate students to work on research projects each semester, and partners with Genentech to offer an innovative extended internship
