Allison Maconochie

Allison originates from Scotland where she graduated from Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh in 2000. She worked for a few years in the NHS before moving to New Zealand. In New Zealand she worked across a variety of settings mostly within the Canterbury area. She moved to Toowoomba with her family in 2023. Allison enjoys working with each individual to help them identify and achieve their activity goals. She has a broad range of experience as a physiotherapist working across many different areas and health settings. Her particular interests are working with older adults and rehabilitation both in-patients and in the community. When not working Allison enjoys spending time with her family and can be found at various sports grounds supporting her children. She also enjoys walking, reading and movies.

Bushra Mir

Bushra graduated from the University of Queensland in 2018 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honors). She spent the first 6 months of her newly graduated year working within Aged Care and has been part of the Downs Physiotherapy team since mid-2019, working at our St Andrews Hospital Toowoomba practice. Since starting with Downs Physiotherapy, she has developed experience working with a wide variety of patients from orthopedic, medical, surgical and intensive care backgrounds. Her goal upon graduating was to gain exposure within an inpatient setting however is maintaining and developing her outpatient skills also, with an interest in post orthopedic surgeries and respiratory physiotherapy. Bushra has a passion and experience of working with women in rugby league. She is a volunteer sports trainer for Easts Rugby League club for the open women's team and has been part of the physiotherapy team for SEQ and QLD women's teams.

Casey McIntosh

Casey is passionate about helping you rediscover the joy in movement. As a physio, Casey knows the value of evidence-based practice, and as a woman, mother and yoga practitioner she also understands the value of your own innate wisdom within your healing journey. Casey believes no two cases are the same and your unique injury journey will be handled with the art and science of Physiotherapy as well as collaboration with you to build an individualised rehabilitation plan.

Chris Fairweather

Chris completed his Bachelor of Speech Pathology at JCU in Townsville and has moved back to his home town of Toowoomba after a few years in Bundaberg working. Chris is passionate about ensuring everyone has equal opportunities and believes the first step to achieving this is helping people communicate effectively. He enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and loves seeing the progress his clients make thanks to the help and input of multiple disciplines. Chris has a particular interest working with kids and helping them ‘find their voice' so they can talk with their friends and family.

David Veal

David has a particular interest in sports injuries, injuries in adolescents, hip and knee injuries, back and neck pain as well as swimming, running, hockey and rugby injuries. David received his physiotherapy degree from Sydney University. ​Further study resulted in David gaining his Certificate in Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy from the McKenzie Institute and a Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy at Latrobe University. David has also completed his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy. David has been the regional physiotherapy provider for the Queensland Academy of Sport, Swimming Queensland, and Toowoomba Grammar School for 12 years. Professionally, David has been actively involved in Sports Medicine Australia and the Australian Physiotherapy Association, having convened the VI International Australian Physiotherapy Association Conference in July 2000.

Jamie Green

Jamie graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2009. Her first job as a physiotherapist was in Roma where she was lucky enough to travel as far west as Tambo. Working in outback Queensland was a real learning curve as a new grad physiotherapist with lots of clinical and life skills learnt. Following that position she moved to Toowoomba where she has been working in both an inpatient and outpatient setting since 2010. Jamie enjoys all aspects of inpatient physiotherapy but has an affinity for rehabilitating total joint replacements. Since 2014, Jamie has a special interest in the area of Vestibular Rehabilitation, having attended numerous courses including a 6 day competency course in 2018. In 2019 Jamie was privileged to form a collaboration with ENT Dr. Ross Harrington and so began the unofficial ‘Dizzy Clinic' and many hours of mentoring, discussion and learning. Jamie is happy helping you through your hospital admission or catching up with you in the clinic for post operative rehabilitation or vestibular rehabilitation.

Jan Boothby

Jan joined the team as receptionist at Downs Physiotherapy St Andrew's Hospital Rooms in March 2008. For three and half years Jan was receptionist at both St Andrew's Rooms and the Oakey Rooms before the closure of the Oakey Rooms in 2011. In her spare time Jan likes spending time with her grandchildren, walking and spending time at the beach.

Keely Dodd

Keely moved to Toowoomba and started with Downs Physiotherapy in 2018, after working in an outpatient clinic in Brisbane. Keely has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and loves the variety that it offers. Her biggest interests are hydrotherapy, post-operative joints and peadiatrics. When she is not at work you'll find her on the netball court or at the gym. Keely's biggest loves (besides my partner, Ben) are her two puppies, Honey and Maisy. If you have ever met Keely, you would definitely have seen photos of her pups.

Leonie Fiechtner

- Leonie Fiechtner is now on maternity leave and will return in 2024. Leonie graduated from Griffith University with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2015. She has worked for Downs Physiotherapy since 2016 and has developed a special interest in treating shoulder injuries. Leonie has worked as a physiotherapist at the Australian Motocross, Supercross and Superbike championships as part of the Racesafe Medical Team since 2016. Outside the clinic, Leonie enjoys riding her motorbike, travelling and camping. ​

Lexi Caldicott

Lexi joined the group in a Relief Administration position in 2016, after relocating to Toowoomba and completing a Medical Administration course. Lexi's previous experience in administration includes 10 years in the real estate industry and many years in agriculture, both as an employee in retail, and as a farmer. Downs Physiotherapy also has a sister clinic, Peak Performance Sports Physiotherapy, operating out of Willows Health and Lifestyle Centre, Kitchener Street, Toowoomba.

Lisa Wallace

Lisa has worked as a physiotherapist for near on 20 years, seeing all sorts of musculoskeletal and sporting conditions. She has Bachelor Degree in both Health Science and Exercise Science, as well as a Masters of Physiotherapy. Lisa is passionate about treating each person as an individual, with compassion, empathy and respect. She strives to provide quality evidence-based care. Lisa loves to learn and when not at Downs Physiotherapy, she is usually reading or listening to audiobooks.

Madison Bennett

Madison graduated from James Cook University, Townsville with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) in 2022. Madison has been fortunate to experience work in across private practice, hospital and school-based physiotherapeutic settings, and loves the variety that the physiotherapy profession offers. Madison's main interests and passion lie across expanding her knowledge within all areas of physiotherapy across the lifespan, including musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions, as well as pre-and-post operative care. When not at work, Madison spends her free time with friends, playing netball and exploring her new home of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs Region.

Melinda McGrath

Melinda has been part of the Downs Physiotherapy and Peak Performance team since 2007, during this time she has had the privilege of working in numerous roles but currently is working part-time as the Practice Office Manager. She has been able to work at all of our locations over the years doing reception and management. Melinda believes the best part about her role is the variety she experiences on a daily basis. Having multiple locations with different diversity keeps her role challenging. In her spare time, Melinda enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, listening to her endless supply of audio books and exploring the outdoors.

Nadia Robotham

Nadia graduated from the University of Queensland in 2003 and returned to her hometown of Toowoomba to work at Downs Physiotherapy shortly after. In 2008, Nadia spent time in England working as a locum physiotherapist and gained much experience in different health settings and styles. Nadia maintains a broad interest in all physiotherapy areas but loves the area of inpatient physiotherapy, post-operative orthopaedics and home visits. ​When not at work, Nadia loves travelling, spending time with friends and family and also her mini dachshund, Kransky.

Pratibha Hillyer-Thake

Pratibha starting working for Downs Physiotherapy as a receptionist in 2012. She has spent all of her working life in a medical environment . Pratibha worked in UK as a practice manager for a doctors surgery for several years before deciding to do a BIG move to Australia. In her spare time Pratibha enjoys Rock N Roll dancing, also spends some time as a volunteer at the Empire Theatre. Pratibha believes one of the most enjoyable aspects of her job is meeting people from all walks of life whom she is able to help.
