Kootenay Conservation Program (KCP) is a partnership of 85 organizations that work together to protect clean water, conserve important wildlife habitat, and steward the land to allow for healthy, functioning ecosystems in the East and West Kootenays... KCP respectfully acknowledges that our work and lives are situated in the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, Sinixt and Syilx Okanagan peoples who have stewarded this land, water and all living things since time immemorial, and whose values and cultures continue to inspire and guide stewardship of this region. We are committed to learning, sharing, and deepening relations with First Nations, and endeavor to support Indigenous-led conservation priorities and initiatives as we work collaboratively towards a shared future of stewardship and conservation.
