Dr Shane Jackson

Shane Jackson has a broad background as a pharmacist. Shane is a practicing community pharmacist, and owner of three rural community pharmacies in Tasmania. He also works as a Consultant Pharmacist within the home and aged care settings and is actively involved in delivering professional development programs to nurses in aged care. He was a former National President of the PSA and he has been credentialed as one of the first Advanced Practice Pharmacists in Australia. He is a Clinical Reference Lead with the Australian Digital Health Agency and was the Lead Negotiator for the PSA in the 7 th Community Pharmacy Agreement. He is an experienced educator who has been delivering presentations on multiple topics such as anticoagulation, therapeutics, and professional pharmacy practice programs for a number of years.

Dr Stephen Carter

Stephen is a community and accredited pharmacist, researcher and academic. Stephen is a member of and past President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) NSW Branch committee. He has been accredited to perform medication review since program inception and represented PSA on the National Advisory Group for the AACP for five years. Stephen is a full-time lecturer in pharmacy practice at the University of Sydney. Prior to this he was a lecturer at the University of Canberra. Stephen's research is centred on consumers' experiences with medicines and how their thoughts feelings and behaviour can be modified to ensure the quality use of medicines. He has recently been investigating the role of medication management apps on adherence improvement. His research interests also aims to ensure that society makes the most use of pharmacists' expertise in medication management services and how best to educate pharmacists to achieve this. He has recently published a text-book chapter dealing with the unique and expanding role of pharmacists, including medication management reviews, in the Australian Health System. Stephen's advocacy on behalf of the profession is notable, and recent highlights include ministerial meetings in regards to expanded roles for medication management pharmacies after hospital discharge and the role-out of the electronic recording of controlled drugs. Stephen aims to advocate on behalf of accredited pharmacists to ensure that the health system makes the best possible use of our unique skillset - as medication management experts.

George Tambassis

George Tambassis is a community pharmacy business owner, and with his partners, he has managed pharmacies around Victoria for over 25 years in various settings. Specialisation has been in the areas of such wound care, opioid replacement therapy and chronic disease management.

Grant Martin - CEO

Grant Martin was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the AACP in September 2009. His primary goals as CEO have been to continue to develop and refine the AACP's MMR accreditation and reaccreditation programs along with the development and implementation of a modern usable IT platform for Associates. After graduating from the University of Sydney, Grant worked as a community Pharmacist-in-Charge/Manager for 20 years in Canberra and still keeps abreast of current practice through regular locum work. In the 5 years prior to taking up the AACP appointment he was Director of Professional Services for the PSA in Canberra with a management role in Pharmacy Self Care, Professional Development and APF 21 and 22. He is currently a member of the PSA ACT Branch and had a role in the reactivation of the local CPD program for pharmacists. Grant has served as a Director on the AACP Board since 2005. He is a former National President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. He was a community pharmacist owner for many years but sold his business interests several years ago. He was accredited for over 20 years and was always heavily involved in the HMR program and made a significant contribution in its original implementation.

John Dowling

Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian College of Pharmacy.

Louise Irvine

Louise has been a member of the Finance & Accounts Unit since joining AACP in 2010. In 2015, she took over as Financial Controller. Louise is responsible for the maintenance of the accounting system, databases and the IT systems. This includes the preparation of management and board reports. Louise has qualifications and experience in accounting, bookkeeping, IT, desktop publishing, website development and pharmacy management.

Ms Suzanne Greenwood

Ms Suzanne Greenwood joined the Pharmacy Guild as Executive Director in 2019 where she is a fierce advocate for community pharmacy as it strives for better health and wellness outcomes for all Australians. With Masters level qualifications in Law and in Business, she has held key strategic executive and governance roles in both public and private health, including as Chief Executive of Catholic Health Australia. A lawyer by profession, Ms Greenwood is a highly respected, dynamic and inspirational thought leader in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech sector.

Nadia Walters

Job Titles:
  • Reaccreditation Manager and Corporate Events Coordinator
Nadia's primary role is to manage the AACP Accredited Pharmacists annual reaccreditation process, including the management of the three yearly Clinical Multiple Choice assessment. Nadia has been with the AACP for more than 13 years' in various areas within the association and recently has become the Event management coordinator and now successfully manages the AACPs annual ConPharm Clinical Seminar.

Regina Murphy

Job Titles:

Regina has managed the AACP Executive Secretariat (Board and National Advisory Committee) since 2002, and is responsible for policy and procedures development. She is also responsible for the management of the stage two accreditation assessment process and deals directly with candidates and the assessment team.

Sarah Gillespie

Sarah graduated from the South Australian Institute of Technology. During her career she has worked in community and hospital pharmacy, in Australia and in the United Kingdom. She became accredited with the AACP in 2003 and has conducted HMRs both in SA and in the ACT. She has worked for the AACP since 2008. Much of her work involves supporting pharmacists as they proceed through the accreditation process and indeed this continues once accreditation is achieved. She also co-ordinates several specialised CPD events designed to improve the knowledge and skills of accredited pharmacists and liaises with relevant stakeholders to promote the role of accredited pharmacists.

Sue Edwards

Accredited since 1998, Sue has worked in a wide range of pharmacy practice settings and professional capacities which have included research, teaching and service delivery in the hospital, primary care and residential aged care settings, and editorial work for the Australian Medicines Handbook. Sue currently provides RMMR and HMR services and is a key senior member of the DATIS team and works in General Practice including aboriginal health services each week. Sue has been involved with AACP since 1993 in a variety of roles including mentoring, assessing case studies and being a member of the NAG (2004 - 2009). In 2012 Sue was awarded the AACP Consultant Pharmacist of the Year. Sue was president of the PSA SA/NT Branch committee from 2012 to 2017 and remains as a member of the Branch Committee and also a member of the PSA National Accredited pharmacist leadership group. Sue is committed to improving quality of medication reviews for better patient outcomes from a personal perspective and also supporting other pharmacists to achieve excellence in professional services.
