Comhlacht Forbartha Áitiúil Acla, also known as The Achill Local Development Company, are a community cooperative dedicated to helping Achill achieve its full potential... First established as Coiste Forbartha Áitiúil Acla in 1991 before registering as the company Comhlacht Forbartha Áitiúil Acla in 2000, CFÁA is a private company limited by guarantee with a fiduciary duty. In May 2003, CFÁA became a Registered Irish Charity, receiving charitable status for the stated charitable purposes and beneficiaries outlined in its mission statement.
