ALISON COLLINS VOCAL STUDIO

Singing is my passion. I knew from an early age I would spend my life singing and helping others through music. My formal training in music began with piano study at age 7. I began studying voice as a teenager at Modesto Junior College and I have never stopped working to improve my understanding of the human singing voice. I received a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music and M.A. majoring in vocal performance from San Jose State University. My thirst for diverse forms of vocal music could not be quenched by traditional study alone. In addition to my formal academic training, I have studied jazz, pop, folk, and Sean-nos (old Irish style) singing... After completing my undergraduate education, I moved to New York City where I was based for much of my performing career. I have performed professionally as a soloist throughout the world. I have performed in opera, classical concert and recital, musical theatre, and jazz (solo and ensemble).
