Apsaras Arts was founded in 1977 by alumni and former faculty of the esteemed Kalakshetra Foundation in India - Shri S. Sathaylingam (Music Director) and Srimathi Neela Sathyalingam (Artistic Director). Together, they embarked on a journey to promote classical Bharatanatyam to multicultural Singapore... Apsaras Dance Company is administered and managed by Apsaras Arts - a non-profit registered charity - and a recipient of the Singapore National Arts Council's annual Major Grant scheme... Apsaras Arts Academy provides meticulous dance training in the 3 genres of classical Indian dance - Bharatanatyam (Kalakshetra Bani), Kathak (Lucknow Gharana) and Odissi - for both children and adults. We also offer an introductory dance programme called Balabharatham for 4 to 6 year olds. As has been the case since 1977,
