Atlas International Agencies Limited (AIAL) was established as a sister concern, involving Commodity Trading, Indenting and participating in International Tenders for both governmental and non-governmental projects. Atlas Shipping Lines Limited (ASLL) also acquired the "MV SAFAR," a 15,000 OWT OGV the same year... Atlas began its operations back in 1966 as a shipping agency, being the pioneering carrier and first Ocean-Going Vessel (OGV) owner in the shipping industry of Bangladesh.
