Angela earned her bachelor's degree in Fashion with an Art minor from Liberty University. Then, after teaching in K12 Christian schools for several years, she went on to earn her Master of Education and Doctor of Education degrees, both in Art and Art Education, from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. Her academic and research interests lie in the areas of an ethic of care in education, human flourishing in the art classroom, and the design and arrangement of studio art classrooms in K12 schools. Angela loves meeting new people and visiting new places whenever the opportunity arises. She also loves to cook, write, and organize things, and has recently added gardening to her list of favorite things to do. She looks for delight in the everyday moment and is well known among her family and friends as one who encourages others to as well. As an artist, she loves color in almost any form, and enjoys discovering and exploring new materials. She works most often in silkscreen printing, mixed media, collage, photography, and video vignettes. She has exhibited her work in group shows in New York and Spain, as well as a solo show entitled In Pursuit of Delight: An Installation of Photos and Video by Angela Allmond at the Macy Gallery in New York.

She led mission trips, served on the academic leadership team, and taught various subjects, including photography and Spanish. Most recently, she served as the Director of Technology at LaGrange Academy. April is married with four sons and enjoys photography, reading, spending time with her family, and camping. Brent grew up in Fort Worth and then moved to Chicago to attend Wheaton College, where he earned his degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. During one of his many summers working at camp, Brent met his incredible bride, Mackenzie, and they began their adventure of long-distance dating until Brent finished school in Chicago. Upon graduating, Brent began working as a camp director in Dallas while his wife was a women's director for a camp in Tyler. When they got married at the beginning of 2023, Brent joined Mackenzie in Tyler and began looking for jobs that allowed him to pursue his passion for teaching the Bible. In the summer of 2023, God presented the perfect opportunity for just that. Brent was hired at Brook Hill to create and teach our 10th-grade Bible class and co-teach our 12th-grade Bible class. When Brent isn't working, there's a good chance he's playing pickleball, running on the Fresh trail, or watching a movie from the comfort of his couch!

David Collins serves as the Head Varsity Soccer coach, assistant Football Coach, and Science Teacher at The Brook Hill School. He received his Bachelor's degree from East Texas Baptist University and his Master's in Education from UT Tyler. Coach Collins began his coaching career at East Texas Baptist University where he served as the assistant Men's soccer coach for seven years (1996-2003) and was part of the Tigers back to back National Championships in 1998 and 1999. In 1999 he became the first coach of the Women's Soccer program at ETBU and guided them to the playoffs in their third season earning Coach Collins American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2001. In 2003 Coach Collins and his family made the move to Brook Hill where he serves as the Head Coach of the Guard and Lady Guard Soccer Teams leading them to nine trips to the Final Four and State Finalist in 2010, 2015, 2020 for the boys; and a Final Four berth for the girls in the first three years of the program which includes winning Back to Back TAPPS Division III State Championship in 2013 and 2014. In 2013, Coach Collins was named Private School Coach of the Year for the state of Texas by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Coach Collins also serves as the Assistant Athletic Director and teaches 7th grade science. Coach Collins and his wife Christi married in 1997, and they have two sons Caleb (Class of 2019) and Joshua ( Class of 2022).

Emily joined Brook Hill in 2023 after an eight-year adventure of teaching public school and doing youth ministry in New Mexico. She grew up in East Texas and graduated from Lindale High School in 2011. She then obtained her Bachelor's degree in English and Associate's degree in Bible from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. From there, she and her husband, Matt moved to Artesia, New Mexico, where she taught English (8 th grade for 6 years and high school for 2) and he worked as a student pastor. She then received her teaching certification in Secondary ELA and a Master's degree in English from Eastern New Mexico University. She is thrilled to be serving at her dream job-sharing the love of Jesus with young people every single day. Glenn Ballard

Glenn Ballard teaches both speech and drama classes and directs the theatre productions. He coordinates the school's involvement in the TAPPS district arts and academic meet and has served as TAPPS District President and Meet Director. Since he began the theatre program in 1998, Mr. Ballard has directed Brook Hill students in annual dinner theatre productions, full-length musicals, and award-winning one act plays. Mr. Ballard came to Brook Hill because he saw an opportunity to build a Christian theatre program from the ground up. Here he has created an environment in which gifted middle school students can learn and perform alongside more experienced upper school actors. Mr. Ballard received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1998 and his Master's degree in Theatre and Speech Communication in 2005. Since 1981 he has been an evangelist and has worked with churches in Houston, Northern California, and East Texas. He has preached in twenty of the fifty United States and in several states in Mexico. He has also made mission trips to China and the Philippine islands of Mindanao, Leyte and Cebu He and his wife Rebecca have three sons Bradley, Aubrey (Salutatorian ‘03), and Timothy (‘05). Among his most memorable theatrical experiences were seeing Yul Brynner in the King and I in Houston, Mandy Patinkin and Patti Lupone in Evita, Tommy Tune in Bye Bye Birdie, and the Broadway productions of Phantom of the Opera (three times), Aida, Cats, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, The Lion King, and Wicked. Mr. Ballard enjoys traveling when he has time, garage sale-ing, and working on upcoming productions.

Heidi Berry and her husband, John, have two boys, Reece and Blake, who are students at Brook Hill. They attend and serve at Rose Heights Church. Heidi is a a lifelong resident of Tyler. She graduated from Tyler Junior College in 1999 with an Associate's in Arts. Heidi continued her education at Stephen F. Austin where she graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. She taught 2 nd grade for eight years in both public and private school in Tyler. After spending eight years at home raising her boys, she decided to return to the classroom and joined Brook Hill in 2017.

Hope has been a part of the Brook Hill family since 2008. As a student, she was actively involved in both the athletics program and campus life before graduating in 2015. She followed sisters Hayley (‘11) and preceded Harley (‘22). Hope then headed to Texas A&M University (Whoop!) where she majored in Strategic Communications. Following graduation in the Spring of 2019, she spent time growing in her faith and serving in the ministry at VOUS Church in Miami and Shoreline City Church in Dallas. Life came around full circle when she then returned to Brook Hill… this time as a staff member! In the years since, she has served on the Development, Campus Life, and Marketing & Communication teams. Now, Hope is in her favorite role yet as the Associate Director of Boarding Admissions, where she recruits and welcomes students from around the world to the place she loves most. Melissa Adkins has worked with children of all ages in the education field for over 15 years in a variety of ways. She has been with Brook Hill since 2012 and now serves as the US attendance clerk, and the administrative assistant to the Dean of Students and Campus Safety and Security. Melissa and her husband, Matt, have two daughters, that are Brook Hill Alumni, Montana Class of 2017 and McKenzie Class of 2018. Meredith Attebery is an East Texas native; graduating from Lindale High School in 1996 and then attending Jacksonville Baptist College on a drum and harmonica scholarship. Meredith joined Brook Hill in 2020 to teach Spanish 1 & 3 and serves as Assistant Tennis Coach and DECA Advisor. Meredith previously taught Spanish 1,2,3, Debate and served as the Head Track Coach and Assistant Tennis Coach at Grace Community School. She then worked in the oil and gas industry for 5 years before beginning her career in the music industry. She owns two companies: K-Pro Music Products, LLC. and Kyser Musical Products, Inc. Her companies manufacture and sell guitar accessories and she loves that she can use this platform to talk about her faith with people who would not have otherwise heard about the good news of Jesus. Meredith is married to Scott Attebery and has 2 kids who currently attend Brook Hill - Maggie Hamlin and Bryce Attebery. Her oldest daughter, Emma Hamlin, recently graduated from Brook Hill and is now attending the University of Wyoming. She enjoys traveling with her family, reading anything about WWII, and wants to share her love of languages with students. God has opened a door for her to grow and work for The Brook Hill School. In her spare time Paige enjoys spending time with family and friends. She attends Rose Heights Church. Pat Brunson

Pat Brunson earned a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Biology from Lamar University. She has been involved with Christian education for the last 20 years teaching middle and upper school biological sciences to include AP Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. Mrs. Brunson has also taught a variety of courses as an adjunct instructor. Her work experience in health care settings and in cancer research at UTMB allows her to share real world biology experiences with her students. Her husband Steve is a pharmacist. She has one son who lives in Tyler, TX. Her hobbies include bird watching, reading and do-it-yourself home projects.

Rachel Abston is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University ('04) where she received her Bachelor's in Elementary Education and has taught at Brook Hill since 2018. Rachel leans on the verse Jeremiah 29:11 and considers it her life verse. She knows God always has a plan for us even when we can't see His hand in situations.

Rachel Carlton

Rachel Carlton joined Brook Hill in 2019. She grew up in southeast Texas and began playing the violin at the age of 11 in the public schools of Beaumont, Texas. She graduated with Bachelor's degrees in both Violin Performance and Music Education from Lamar University. While at Lamar, Rachel performed with the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra and studied with Dr. Eduard Schmieder, a Russian immigrant at the time. Professor Schmieder is now an imminent violin teacher who has since taught at Rice, SMU, UCLA and is currently teaching at Brown University. After graduation Rachel went on to play professionally and teach in the public schools in the Houston area and remained there for 31 years. School districts she taught in include Spring Branch ISD, Deer Park ISD, Pasadena ISD and La Porte ISD. While in public schools her orchestras consistently received UIL Sweepstakes awards and Outstanding Orchestra awards in festivals. Her teaching experience ranges from elementary to high school. She is also a sought-after orchestra clinician and solo and ensemble judge. Rachel is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, and Suzuki Association of the Americas. Rachel is trained in Suzuki Violin through Unit 5 and has taught Suzuki to children as young as 3 years old. She taught Suzuki Violin in the Houston area for 4 years prior to her move to East Texas.

Robin Bynum

Robin Bynum attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. She has a BSE, Bachelor of Secondary Education with a Composite Social Studies certification. She also worked to acquire certification in Physical Science and Speech Communication and taught in Texas schools for 8 years. She and her husband, Chace, have two daughters who graduated from Brook Hill, Emma, Class of 2019 and Suvonna, Class of 2022. She currently serves as the Curriculum Coordinator for the American Freedom Museum creating a curriculum that expands the classroom into the Museum so that every teacher at Brook Hill and the schools in the surrounding area can use it to teach their subject. As she prepares classes for the Museum, she thinks often of Psalm 107:2, "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so;". To tell history, is to tell of God's faithfulness to His word and His people.

Shanda Booth

Shanda Booth is thrilled to join the Brook Hill staff as a Dyslexia Interventionist at the middle and upper schools. She has taught in the public school setting for 22 years as a reading intervention teacher and most recently as the District Dyslexia Specialist. Shanda grew up in Chandler, TX where she currently lives. She got her Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in elementary education with a specialization in reading. She is married to her husband, Tom and they have 3 children, Carson, Trey and Mylee. In her free time, Shanda enjoys watching sports, traveling, and being with family and friends.

Suzanne Braly is beginning her third year as a part-time assistant basketball and softball coach at Brook Hill. Suzanne was born in and attended school in Tyler, Texas. She received bachelor's degrees in History from UT Tyler, Life and Earth Science from East Texas State and Physical Education and Health from Stephen F. Austin, as well as a Master's in Educational Administration from Stephen F. Austin. She comes to Brook Hill after 38 years in public education, having taught several subjects and coached a myriad of sports at South Garland, Wills Point, Bullard and Van, where she also served as an assistant principal and testing coordinator, retiring from public education in 2015. Since that time, she has coached basketball and/or softball at Robert E. Lee, Frankston and Brook Hill.

Todd Cofer is a Colorado native and has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach since 2010. Coach Cofer graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Training and Conditioning from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and completed his Masters of Science in Applied Exercise Science. Coach Cofer is nationally certified through the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Coach Cofer has worked the past 6 years with high school athletics and has coached numerous Division I athletes. Coach Cofer is married to his high school sweetheart, Wendi, and they have two amazing children, Tait and Tinlee. In his free time, Coach Cofer enjoys all outdoor activities, lifting weights, and spending time with his family.

Travis Bunger has been teaching Chemistry and Environmental Science at Brook Hill since 2008. He and his wife Kelly have three daughters: Macey, Lily and Carsen. Mr. Bunger earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from West Texas A&M University, a Master of Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After ten years as an environmental consultant and project manager, Travis joined the upper school science department. In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family, bow hunting and fishing.
