Before Joining SOSV, Brian worked in a South Korean software company as programmer and interpreter for technology transfer process. He also had an internship in a consulting firm as a research assistant for Turkey G20 summit supply chain examination. He studied in Shanghai Jiao Tong university and majored in eletrical and computer engineering. Brian was also an exchange student in Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, studying computer science and German.

Carrie is Finance Manager at SOSV for the Orbit Startups program. She received her bachelor degree from the Chihlee University of Technology, and has 15 years' experience as an accountant and finance specialist. She has worked for various companies including Electrolux, Honeywell, and Mckinsey.
Her hobbies include music, volunteering, and watching Chinese professional baseball games-she is a fan of the Brothers.

As a Corporate Innovation Manager for Orbit Startups at SOSV, Chen Lu helps Fortune 500 companies forge strategic partnerships with startups to identify opportunities for open innovation programs. Her primary responsibilities include facilitating communications, promoting strategic alignment, and managing projects.
Prior to joining Orbit Startups, Chen worked as a Business Coordinator for an international trade company that specialized in iron ore and steel products. She also has work experience in the consulting industry, Chinese government, and nonprofit organizations.
Chen holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's Degree in International Economics and Trade from The University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

Ching-Ping Lin is the Chief Operating Officer of SOSV's Orbit Startups program.
Prior to SOSV, Ching-Ping built the first operations and HR team at Dragon Aviation Leasing, a joint venture between China Aviation Supplies and Aercap, and held roles at Amazon.com, McKesson, successfully exited startups Planetall.com and HPR Inc., and early free email startup Freemark Communications. A health informaticist and qualitative researcher by training, she has built digital health systems in rural communities in Uganda, China, and the United States serving the health needs of under-resourced populations.
Born and raised in the US, Ching-Ping has lived abroad for 8 years in Beijing, Taipei, and Shanghai. She has a BA in computer science and classics from Bowdoin College, a Ph.D. in biomedical informatics from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Peking University in global health. Ching-Ping is an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a passion for supporting female entrepreneurs and academics.

Claire is an Investment Operations Specialist for the Orbit Startups program at SOSV. She has a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation and business modelling. She built her own startup when she was still a student and received much of her training in Silicon Valley. Previously, Claire worked with a hedge fund as a trading associate, conducting the analysis and supporting the trades.
She holds a bachelor degree in quantitative finance from National Tsing Hua University and a master's degree from Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.

Danny is a Partnership Specialist at Orbit Startups and is responsible for helping startups expand their businesses. He works with founders to accelerate business connections with multinational corporations and Orbit Startup portfolios.
Prior to joining Orbit Startups, Danny has several research-oriented internships in Equity Research and International Banking. The topics he had covered include Indonesian macroeconomics, Japanese and Singaporean listed companies, Taiwan's opportunities in the global unmanned aerial vehicles and advanced air mobility industry, etc. In addition, Danny also worked at Schneider Electric before. He was mainly responsible for pricing analysis and conducting the project of visualizing and automating the model.
Danny graduated from National Taiwan University with a BA in Economics. Danny grew up in Tainan. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton and making coffee.
Daphne has joined as a HR & Operations Manager at Orbit Startups. Raised in South Africa before moving to China, Daphne studied in the USA and is now living in Taiwan.
Before joining SOSV, Daphne worked as an executive assistant to the CEO of a locally listed financial group. Here she developed excellent time management and organizational skills.
Before this, she worked at a fortune 500 company for over 6 years as a real estate consultant. She has assisted some major projects with many multinational firms in various industries including Amazon, TikTok, BNP Paribas, WPP group and many more.
Daphne considers herself to be optimistic, loves to laugh, is always grateful and will always try to bring joy to people around her. A random fact is that her favorite flowers are Sunflowers.

David ‘DC' Collier is the CTO of RIKAI Labs, building chat apps for education and entertainment. He is focused on hybrid human + AI user experiences DC has founded four startups in three continents and had two exits. He founded TripMedia in London and had a #1 hit game, relocated to San Francisco to found Gamelet.com which was acquired by PacketVideo Corp. Moved to Tokyo to found Pikkle KK an early mobile social game publisher. Gained investment from Mixi, japan's leading social network, Pikkle was eventually acquired by KLab. Rikai Labs was formed in 2015 to build apps for messaging platforms. We launched TeacherBot on WeChat for Chinese users to learn english from an AI teacher, as well as developing chatbots for companies like VISA and HSBC.

Elva Ren is an Analyst at SOSV. At the beginning of her professional career, Elva worked at a private equity firm in Shanghai. She focused on the Semiconductor and Intelligent Manufacturing sector. Prior to her graduation, she also had internships at Fosun International and SWS research.
She holds a MSc degree from Columbia University in the City of New York and a BSBA degree from Boston University. Among all the city she has been lived and visited, Boston has always been one of her favorites.

Eric is the Corporate Innovation Director at Orbit Startups, forging and maintaining relationships with corporations. He is located in Shanghai, where he began his career as a consultant with a master's degree in electrical engineering serving customers in different industries. After six years of consulting, he furthered his studies in business and received an MBA offer from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
After graduation, he joined GE's Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) sponsored by Jeff Immelt. Most recently, he worked for Honeywell to extend the business in APAC by providing innovative solutions such as IoT, AI-based services, IMU, etc.
Francesca is a seasoned business development professional with solid track record in achieving company target. Demonstrate extensive networking and prospecting skills with C-suite personnel. Effectively build and maintain high-value relationship with key accounts.
She was the Business Development manager for Foxconn Group for 5+ years with the experience of hardware quotation management, startup investment due diligence, new business development for hardware IoT manufacturing business. Prior to Foxconn, she was the Quotation Manager for NXP and Project Manager for a professional conference organizer.
She was based in the Bay Area for 4+ years being fully emersed in the startup ecosystem, offering manufacturing, design engineering support and investment partnership for hardware startups within the smart home, smart IoT industry. As the outpost for the team, she successfully led and performed matchmaking and bridge the gap between startups and corporates. She's passionate about supporting startups and enjoys being inspired by their entrepreneurship and wants to take part in the next innovation.
She grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and graduated from National Taipei University with a bachelor's degree in Recreational Sport Management and a double major in Business Administration. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and being outdoors.

James has over 30 years of experiences spanning diverse industries such as defense, software, e-commerce, and sports and entertainment and across numerous functions including product management, strategy, venture investment, content development and production, and executive leadership. In addition, James has over 15 years of cross-border operating experiences in China and, since mid-2019, he has been investing and advising early-stage start-ups and media and entertainment companies around the world with an emphases on artificial intelligence, computer vision, NLP, immersive technologies, and distributed ledger; he currently serves as an advisor to Cameron Pace Group China (media & entertainment; Beijing), StoryFile (AI, NLP, computer vision; Los Angeles) , Creative Robot Labs (immersive technologies; Shanghai), Darabase (immersive technologies, London), and Tellus (fintech; Palo Alto).
Most recently, James was the CEO of Jaunt China, a start-up jointly invested by Jaunt Inc., Shanghai Media Group, and China Media Capital, where he produced numerous critically acclaimed and awarding winning immersive content and experiences. Prior to joining Jaunt China, James served as the CEO of Oriental DreamWorks, where he led the production and release of Kung Fu Panda 3 in China, and as the Managing Director of Strategy and League Development for NBA China, where he developed and launched three NBA-quality arenas for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, 2010 World's Fair in Shanghai, and the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, respectively. Earlier in his profession, he was a Director at Amazon, where he launched Amazon Marketplace, Amazon Advertising, and Amazon Global Selling in China, bringing tens of thousands of Chinese sellers and manufacturers to Amazon's global marketplace, and a General Manager at Microsoft, where he oversaw a $165 million venture fund and expanded Microsoft's sales and marketing efforts to over 32 cities in China. Prior to starting his career as a product manager for Microsoft in Redmond, WA, James served his nation as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
James holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University and a Master of in Business Administration in Information Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
